WorldSensing, connected operational intelligence Worldsensing was created in 2008 and employs now more than 80 people between Barcelona and London. The principal experience of the company are Wireless solutions for Machine-to-Machine networks and IoT applications with a low energy consumption. WorldSensing has always developed products and services for Smart Cities. One of their most relevant products is the FastPrk, where a set of sensors installed in the parking places of the cities streets detects the presence of vehicles or not, and sends this information to a central computer through Internet. Another product of Worldsensing with Wireless connectivity is LoadSensing, where data-loggers send periodically acquired data by different sensors to a central unit. Both systems have differentiated technical characteristics and are installed all over the world. Project idea Communication Technology in 5G environment : The access technology by 5G radio will be a fundamental pillar of the future Connected Society. The global solution of 5G wireless access will consist in the evolution of LTE and in the synergies with new technologies for IoT (for example, New Radio technology NR). 3GPP will identify and develop the necessary technological components to normalize with success the new system NR to satisfy, both the urgent market needs, and the longer-term requirements established by the IMT-2020 of UIT-R. According to 3GPP, the NR system should be able to use any spectrum band, which reaches at least until 100 GHz, which could be available for Wireless communications, included in a farer future. The proposed project will address to massive MTC for NR systems in 5D systems. The main aspects to treat are: Definition of use cases and scenarios with their requirements in the NR context. Co-cell / site and carrier efficient operations, and also compatibility with LTE. Protocols and radio architecture required, such as signal structure of PHY cover, frame structure and canal codification. Radio electrical interface protocol architecture and procedures. RAN architecture, interface protocols and procedures. Operation of licensed band and without licence. New solutions, as the clock radio and others solutions for the operation without battery and the low latency mmtc. Possibly localization and retransmission. Normalization contributions (version 16 and posterior). Test benches and demonstrations. vendredi 13 octobre 2017 P24
