Also iron fusible fleece to the left front bag,the right front bag, one of the flap pieces and both strap pieces. Next take the other pocket pieces and sew them right sides together to the pocket pieces with fusible. Flip fabric wrong sides together and press flat. Topstitch at 1/2" at the top of your pockets. Applying a Magnetic Snap Note: A magnetic snap has two main components, a male side & a female side. The magnetic snap also comes with a backing washer for each component. When you purchase a magnetic snap, you will receive 4 metal pieces in total. Take your Left Big Pocket and open it up and find the mid point of your piece. Measure 5" down from the seam (Diagram 7) and on the wrong side of the fabric fuse a 1" x 2" rectangle of ultra firm fusible. This is were you are going to attach the female side of your magnetic snap. Mark and place a washer on the wrong side of the fabric, 5" down from the seam. Mark with a pencil two lines, from top and bottom tracing inside the rectangles on the washer. (Diagram 4) 5 down from seam DIAGRAM 7 Now take your left front bag and place and pin the Left Big Pocket following Diagram 8. Ma rk Here Ma rk Here DIAGRAM 4 Remove the washer and make two slits on those marks using a small pair of sharp scissors. Place the arms of the female magnetic snap through the slits from the right side of your piece. ba cking washer arms Next sew the piece created in Diagram 3 and 8 together. DIAGRAM 8 DIAGRAM 5 Put the washer over the arms from the wrong side of the fabric. Using pliers, fold each arm of the snap out and down in opposite directions around the washer. Make the arms as flat as a possible. folded arms DIAGRAM 9 magnetic clasp (female) DIAGRAM 6 Sew both flap pieces with right sides together following Diagram 10.1. Leave a small unsewn portion to pull right side of the fabric through. Topstitch about 1/8" around the entire piece. (Diagram 10.2)

Place your strip for your flap directly in the center of your flap fold over raw edges to the back side of your flap. Pin in place and sew strip to flap following Diagram 12 DIAGRAM 10.1 DIAGRAM 10.2 Take your 3 1/2" x 10 1/2" strip from Fabric D and place your 1" x 8 1/2" ultra firm fusible directly in the middle back and fuse into place. (Diagram 11.1) Fold one short end in and press then fold long sides of fabric in at 1/4". Fold one long end into the middle and the other long end on top. Topstitch around the edge of your piece at 1/8". (Diagram 11.2-11.4) Now we are going to apply the male side of your magnetic snap to your strip attached to the flap. DIAGRAM 12 Pin flap onto Left Front Bag making sure the flap is evenly placed in the middle and lined up with pocket 1. (Diagram 13) Line up with Pocket 1 DIAGRAM 11.1 Fold DIAGRAM 11.2 DIAGRAM 13 Sew Fold DIAGRAM 11.3 Once you have the flap pinned, we need to find out were the strip meets the female side of your magnetic snap and mark. Take a 3/4" x 1" piece of brown leather and attach the male side of your magnetic snap following the same process as we did to attach the female side of the magnetic snap. DIAGRAM 11.4

Hot glue male side of the magnet to the mark you made on your strip. Next topstitch top of flap down at 1/8" and then again at 3/8". Your front bag is now complete. Use your front bag as a template to cut your back bag in Fabric A. Also cut two more pieces in Fabric E for your lining. Fuse fusible to wrong side of your back bag and sew front and back bag together. Take lining pieces and trim 1/2" off the top. Sew back and front lining pieces together but leave a small unsewn portion to flip the right side of the fabric through. Straps Now take a 5 x 33" strip from Fabric D. Fold it in half with right sides together and sew long sides. (Diagram 14.1) Sew at 1/2". Turn right side out using a safety pin to inch your way through. Press flat. (Diagram 14.2) Happy Sewing Press strap so the seam is in the back of your strap. # PatBravoDesign DIAGRAM 14.1 DIAGRAM 14.2 Pin the ends of your straps 3 1/2" in from each side seam and stitch in place at 1/4" Next place exterior of bag inside lining making sure right sides are touching and that the straps are out of the way. Pin lining to the exterior of the bag and sew all the way around the top of your bag at 1/2" seam allowance. Pull exterior of bag through the unsewn portion in the lining. Handstitch or machine stitch unsewn portion.
