Scholarship applications will be accepted via our website through Sunday, August 15. If you are a candidate, please complete an application via the link below, or if you know someone who will be sitting for Level 1 in December, please let them know about the CFAW scholarships. Stock Picking Contest Now Open The CFA Society of Washington's annual stock picking contest is on! Give us your best stock market investment ideas (long or short) and win great cash prizes. Rules: 1. US publicly traded equities only-$ prices from Bloomberg; ADRs are ok and so are ETFs 2. Each contestant may submit up to 5 names (along with ticker symbols) 3. Each stock must be over $5.00 in price when submitted 4. No two stocks can be from the same GICS sector 5. No stock can assume more than 25% weight in the portfolio either long or short 6. Investors can short a name or go long but without using any leverage (or leverages ETFs). Total portfolio exposure cannot be more than 100% or less than -100% 7. Judges decisions are final Prizes: First Prize - $800 Gift Card or Check Second Prize - $400 Gift Card or Check Third Prize - $300 Gift Card or Check How to Enter: Fill in the entry form with your contact information and stock picks. On August 26th, Ryan Zimmerman and Adam Dunn of the Washington Nationals will take on Albert Pujols and the St. Louis Cardinals. A picnic area has been reserved inside the stadium for pregame networking. Ballpark style food will be provided during this time. You will also receive one free drink voucher for use during the game (good for beer or soda). Seats are located in the outfield (section 237) steps from the main concourse and the picnic area. Dan Fuss has 50 years of experience in the investment management industry and has been with Loomis, Sayles & Company since 1976. He is vice chairman of the firm and manages numerous institutional accounts for the fixed income group. Dan also manages a variety of mutual funds including the flagship Loomis Sayles Bond Fund. In 2000, he was named to the Fixed Income Analysts Society's Hall of Fame in recognition of his contributions and lifetime achievements in the advancement of the analysis of fixed income securities and portfolios. He is past president of the Boston Security Analysts Society. Dan earned a BS and an MBA from Marquette University. He served in the US Navy from 1955 to 1958 and held the rank of Lieutenant.
