Hereby, the unequal helix effectively counteracts vibrations and chattering as well as the so-called corkscrew effect. The optimised corner radius ensures a long tool life together with a high form accuracy. RF 100 TI Ratio end mills RF 100 VA RF 100 high-performance end mills excell thanks to unequal helix angles considerably reducing vibration. The uneven helix achieves a considerably improved surface for finishing operations and a considerable feed rate increase for slotting and roughing. The complete milling process can be covered with one RF 100 for many applications, generating a considerable cost advantage alongside an increased tool life and dimensional accuracy of the workpiece. Combined with a newly developed roughing geometry RF 100 VA/F end mills enable drastic tool life increases in comparison to conventional roughing cutters with round and flat knuckle-type teeth. The workpiece surface quality is improved to a peak-to-valley height of approximately Ra = 2-3µm, making in many cases finishing operations unnecessary. At the same time the innovative design reduces power consumption in comparison to conventional RF 100 end mills allowing their use in unstable conditions and in less powerful machines.
