Note: You might be wondering how to model a new yacht design without having blueprints like we used in this tutorial. In the SolidWorks Yacht tutorial we used some "perfect" line drawing as blueprints because I didn't want to make things too complicated for the tutorial. But a blueprint can also be a conceptual hand sketch. I always recommend you to make hand sketches of your design before you start with 3D modeling. You can import your hand sketches in SolidWorks the same way as the blueprints. Another tip is to use pictures of a similar product as blueprints. For instance: in case you want to design a new sports car, you can use pictures/blueprints of an existing sports car as a guideline for the proportions of the new design. Here you see one of my photorealistic renderings of the yacht that we will model in the SolidWorks Yacht tutorial. Copyright by J.W. In the next tutorial you will learn how to model Part I of the Hull in SolidWorks. Copyright by J.W. Zuyderduyn www.yachttutorial.com - How To Model a Yacht in SolidWorks? Page 28
