Gifts & Grants Request We have received 2 Grant requests: $500 Grant request from Firehouse Quilts of Colorado. Firehouse is a non-profit organization that makes quilts for children and adults in crisis. Organizations which have received quilts include Colorado Fire Departments, Victim Advocates Offices, County Social and Human Service Agencies, Craig Hospital, and Limb Preservation Foundation. Firehouse received a $500 Grant in 2017. $1500 Grant request from Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum. The RMQM request is for batting, fabric, and 2 tuitions scholarships to underprivileged youth to this year s Kid Camp. RMQM has received numerous Grants in the past, with the most recent being $1536 in 2017 for 2 sewing machines. The Gifts and Grants Committee and the Board present these requests to the membership for approval: $500 to Firehouse Quilts and $1000 to RMQM. Committee Reports Library Quilt Show 2018 Pam Walsh Library Quilt Show 2018 Denver Central Public Library, Gates Reading room on the 5th floor Theme Western 1000.00 Prize and quilt will become part of the Western History Collection. Important Dates & Information Denver Library Show sizes for hanging 30 X 50 to 60 X 72 We can also accommodate small 24 X 24 quilts in a display case. Quilts must be delivered to the Denver Library on May 1 and picked up on July 1. Descriptions are due by April 16 so the library has time to print identification cards. Fall Retreat October 2018 This year we will be at The Hideaway in the Black Forest again. Our teacher will be Wendy Matheson from Poway CA for a workshop about Storm at Sea.
Project Warm Hearts Nancy Samuel, and JaNelle Erickson our Project Warm Hearts Co-Chairs Today s winners are Karen Brown, Charity is The Denver Rescue Mission. Carol Romano, Charity is Multiple Sclerosis Society. We have completed 76 quilts since the project began. Including the 18 quilts in 2017, and the 12 kits we have together from the nine patch variation blocks. We want to hit 100 Charity Quilts this year!! Look for sew days and make some blocks to support this committee. The new pattern is in the Newsletter.

Quilt-a- Fair 2018 Committee Meetings The first Saturday of each month at Mary Rush s Meeting Room. Join the committee to plan the next show. Everyone is welcome. Come and be part of the planning of our annual fund raising event. See newsletter for dates and address. 40 th Anniversary Planning and Celebration Also being held on the first Saturday before the QAF Meeting. See the newsletter for dates and topics. Be a Guild Liaison for CQC Do you attend another Quilt Guild Meeting somewhere in the state? Would you be willing to take flyers to the meeting and give an announcement about our upcoming speakers or events? See Pat Cleaveland at the sign in desk to sign up to be this representative. We want to use social media and word of mouth this year to publicize CQC and get more quilters involved in our statewide quilting guild. Are you making your Red & White Quilt and/or Small Wall Quilt The quilt show at QAF will be Red & White Quilts, anything made or purchased in the last 40 years. Minimum 52 Maximum 120 Make a wall hanging/quilt for the return of the Mini Auction 70% of the selling price goes to the maker, 30% to CQC. Auction will be Saturday September 22, 2018 to wrap up the Quilt-a-Fair. Date of the July Birthday Luncheon is July 23 rd same day as the meeting.
