The AbrasiMatic 450 Automatic Abrasive Cutter is a floor standing cutter featuring 4 cut types, providing the best options for a wide variety of applications. With best in class accessibility and visibility, this durable solid machine delivers the power to get through each cut, with precision controls, laser alignment and convenient time saving features like wheel and sample detection. With both X & Z wheel motion and Y table motion, larger samples can be easily sectioned using a minimal area of contact (MAC) method such as Planer or Saw. Serial cutting can be programmed and recalled, saving valuable time. This cutter features 3 large viewing windows, with unrestricted access to the cutting envelope through the front window. AbrasiMatic 450 Automatic Abrasive Cutter Simple controls enable programming, recall and modification of methods, while dual joysticks provide precise control of the table and wheel. Clear fields prompt the user for required parameters, while tracking elapsed cut time on the screen. Enhanced security features provide method PIN control, preventing other users from changing or deleting your methods. The USB drive allows for easy importing/exporting of methods. Cleaning is automated with the washdown controls, providing a thorough washdown cycle of 1-10 minutes. Targeted cleaning is accomplished by using the externally mounted hose and spray nozzle, while the recirculating tank is easily accessible behind the 2 wide opening doors. AbrasiMatic 450 Application Features Cut Types With serial sectioning and four available cut types, you can select what is best for your application. Based on material type and sample geometry, control the parameters that best fit your needs for each of your applications. Each cut type has advantages in certain applications. Experimenting with cut type is an excellent way to ensure the most efficient and successful method for your specific needs. An intuitive user interface enables rapid setup time. Chop Cut The abrasive wheel moves into the sample with the cutting table stationary. This cut type is recommended for smaller diameter samples. Planer Cut The abrasive wheel lowers into the sample at an incremental rate before the cutting table moves in the forward motion. This cut type is recommended for larger diameter samples and is a minimal area contact (MAC) cut type. Saw Cut The abrasive wheel lowers into the sample at an incremental rate before the cutting table moves in the forward motion and again after the cutting table moves backward. This cut type is recommended for larger diameter samples and is a minimal area contact (MAC) cut type. Y-Feed Cut The abrasive wheel is stationary and the cutting table moves forward completing a one-time cut into the sample with the cutting table stationary. Controls AbrasiMatic 450 Controls & User Interface The ergonomic control panel feels solid in the hand, yet allows precise control of the table and wheel without causing operator fatigue. The touch screen allows quick setup, call back of previous methods or locking of parameters. Dual joysticks control the X & Z wheel motion and Y table motion with smooth, controlled movement. Simple setup screens guide you through the required parameters, while advanced features like Serial Cutting and Method Import/Export allow you to create, store and transfer methods. Serial Cutting & Methods Serial cutting can be programmed with ease in the Method Screen for materials that require repeated or multiple cuts. Create samples of different widths by moving the wheel to the desired position and hitting the SET button for each cut. Create samples of uniform widths by simply touching the UNIFORM menu option and designating a width in the touchscreen. Serial cutting programs are saved as a Method and can be retrieved again or exported for use in other machines or locations. Import/Export Methods Import or Export saved methods via USB to other machines or locations easily from the Import/Export Menu. AbrasiMatic 450 Advanced Features Set Up Wheel Size Detection alerts user when wheel size is too small to complete the cut or when specified cut depth is so large that the table may be cut.
