Starting the 2015-2016 School Year: Photography classes will be ALL DIGITAL! The darkroom will be turning into multiple studio lighting sets for more hands-on formal lighting photo projects Photo will now only have levels A, B, and C (no more level D) Studio in Graphic Design will have Level A and Level B! Graphic design B will teach more design based skills on Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign
Studio in Fine Arts This course is required before taking Drawing and Painting A. Basic Methods, Materials, and Concepts in the Fine Art Studio Common Units of Study: Basics of Drawing, Painting, 3D Media Style Studies ex. Portfolio Prerequisites include Studio in Fine Art, Drawing and Painting A and B This course is offered exclusively in the Fall to Seniors needing credit toward graduation for a major sequence and/or future art majors who need to submit a Portfolio to colleges for admission and scholarship eligibility. Common Units of study: Figure, Self-Portrait, and Still-life Drawing from Direct Observation Unit Digital documentation of 12-15 of original art in a variety of media completed by the student during their Junior or Senior year which illustrate their very best work Written Artist Statement of Purpose In class presentation of the students portfolios

Independent Study Generally available once a student has completed a sequence (i.e. Drawing and Painting, Sculpture or Photography) Appropriate for students (usually juniors or seniors) who have shown passion for the arts and the ability to work independently and are able to get approval and support from the teacher and art coordinator. Students can write their own course objectives and create a series of high quality works based on their particular interests and skills.
