2.2 4.7 General Specifications Door Construction: 5 Piece Wood Mortise & Tenon door. Center Panel Construction: 1/ Veneer Center Panel. See drawings for other available options. Rail/Stile Size Options: Default Rail is 3 1/W. Minimum Rail is 2 1/W with Concealed Hinges. Maximum Rail is 4 1/W, but this becomes a function of cabinet width. Frameless Drawer fronts: Minimum Stile width is W for proper drawer box attachment. Inset Frame Drawer fronts: Minimum Stile width is 1 1/W for proper drawer box attachment. Minimum HINGED Door Size: Based on Prime Rail/Stile Width and Prime Panel: 8 W x 8 H. We often get the question: Your drawer fronts are 5 7/8 H, why isn t the minimum door width 5 7/8 W?. If we were to use a drawer front turned to become a door, the rails and stiles would be reversed and beside a standard door, this would look odd, especially with a stained finish. Hinged doors smaller than the listed minimum width will be manufactured with slab doors. Minimum PULL OUT Door Size: Based on W and a Prime Panel: 5 1/W x 5 1/H. As the width of the door decreases, the stiles will remain full size until the center panel reaches 1 1/W, at that point the stile width will decrease until it reaches the minimum of. Maximum Door Size: 2W x 48 H Wider/Taller doors will have intermediate cross rail and multiple panels. Cross Rails can be removed, however this voids the warranty. Radius Doors Available: No. 3 Dimensional Mitered Doors Available: Yes, but only when the center panel is upgraded to either solid reverse or 3/8 veneer panels. Wainscot/Appliance Panel Types: Standard rails & panels. Dimensioned drawing showing the number of panels and location of cross rails is required. Maximum size: 9W x 48 H. Wainscot Arch & Arched Top Door Availability: Yes. Recessed Filler/Pilaster Availability: Yes. Rail Width Design : Rail widths narrower than 2 3/W combined with wide outside profile such as our N edge may look out of proportion. Drawer Front Options Standard Door Match Drawer Front Specifications Recessed Veneer Door Match (Most Common) Vertical stiles will be full size. See chart for top & bottom rail sizes as well as space for hardware, according to drawer front height. Solid Reverse Door Match Vertical stiles will be full size. See chart for top & bottom rail sizes as well as space for hardware, according to drawer front height. Drawer Front Ordering Methodology: As the drawer front height increases beyond the default top drawer height (which is different for each cabinet line), the drawer rails will increase in size until the full rail width is attained. The center panel will remain the same until the rails have reached full width. At this point the center panel will begin to increase along with the drawer height. The information below is based on the prime door rail width of 3 1/. The dimensions shown WILL change if a rail size other than 3 1/ is selected. The following information is also representative of the prime configuration of rails, stiles and center panel as shown on the left side of this page. The default top drawer height is a cabinet line dependent value that we base all other drawer fronts on.

Finish Door Style Factors for Available Species 2.2 4.7 The standard finish for the back of all doors and drawer fronts is base stain without shader or glaze or base paint without glaze. Elmwood highly recommends using the 1/16 Radius edge in place of Square edge when a painted finish is required, as this edge will minimize edge chipping. Painted wood doors will develop hairline fractures at joints on rails and stiles as well as rails and center panels. THIS IS NOT A WARRANTY ISSUE. 5 Piece MDF doors will telegraph the joint location between the stile and rail. There will be open gaps at the joint between the panel and the rail. As a result, surface hairline fractures may develop at the joints. THIS IS NOT A WARRANTY ISSUE. Veneer center panels will absorb stain differently than solid rails and stiles which may affect the overall appearance of the finished door. Natural finishes also contain this characteristic. Glazed finishes appear different on different doors styles, different outside edge profiles as well as on different wood species. It is required that a sample door is viewed before the cabinetry order is placed. All door style factors listed below are based on the Prime Rail/Stile Width and Center Panel Configuration for this door style as shown on the left side of this page. Any changes to the prime door style, included rail/stile width changes, panel changes, etc. will result in changes to the door style factor (DSF) and price point (P.P.).
