Silver City Quilt Guild NEWSLETTER Note from the President: Hello Silver City Quilters! December, 2016 I want to take this time to wish everyone a very happy Holiday season and a prosperous New Year. This year seems to have flown by. I guess that's what happens as we get older. I'm looking forward to a new year and what it may bring, no matter what that may be. I want to set new goals (and hopefully achieve them). I want to make new friends while I cherish the old ones. New guild members would fulfill that! I want to finish some of my UFO's!! I'm excited about the great programs that are planned for our membership. Our January meeting is Demo Night, focusing on Millifiore, La Pascaglia and Lucy Boston's Patchwork. I'm sure it will be amazing! So, enjoy your December break. This might be a good time to work on those challenge quilts after the holiday craziness subsides. Again, have a wonderful Holiday. I'll see you in January. Patty Roberts SCQG President Meeting Info There is no meeting planned for December

There are some committees that still need people to Chair. Some of the positions open are: Publicity, Volunteer Coordinator, Floral decorations for Show and ROTC coordinator. We have prepared a detailed list of the major items that need attention for each committee to make it easier. Please consider coming forth to volunteer. Send an e-mail to: Pauline.lally@gmail.com if you are considering taking on one of these positions and you just need a little push. The dates for the show have been confirmed and they are: Saturday, September 16, 2017 Sunday, September 17, 2017 Our quilt show meeting in November was sparsely attended. We will have another meeting in January and we would like to see all chairpersons there. Details on time and place to follow. The Board has given their approval to the list of quilt show categories for 2017. There are quite a few changes. We urge you to take a look at the list on our web-site at: http://silvercityquiltguild.org/?page_id=374. We re especially excited about a new category named Look what I did in Class! This category will include any quilt project that was begun at a Guild Sponsored Workshop. It does not have to have been completed at the workshop. The Workshop must have been held after the last quilt show.
