AC CURRENT GENERATOR PERFORMANCES Wide range of current 50 db dynamic range Signal-to-noise ratio: 80 db open loop protection Stability < 0,1% Very low THD distortion < 0,3% External synchronization Build-up time of the current < 1 ms RS232 APPLICATIONS Normative tests of breakers Endurance tests Current relays tests Calibration of current sensors and wattmeter Generation of magnetic field DESCRIPTION Alternative current generator POC-6000 is built using a power bloc in linear technology with a current regulation. It is suitable for any application that requires an accurate and stable current, including when there is a load impedance variation. Thanks to the linear technology, it generates almost no electrical pollution and can be used in anechoic chamber. Its 0-10V analog isolated bus (setpoint input / current measurement output) and its 0-24V isolated digital bus, allow a use directly controlled by a PLC on a production line. To ensure a high precision on its entire output range, there are current ranges. The change of ranges is done automatically according to the amplitude to generate. It has a synchronization input and can be associated with other POC-6000 generators to create a three-phase network, or with another voltage generator to create a single-phase fictive power generator, or a three-phase fictive power generator. Entirely self-sufficient thanks to its touch-screen control / command card, it also can be remotely controlled for an easy integration into an automatic system using the TCP/IP Protocol on an Ethernet link, or SCPI on a RS232 or RS485 link. This option includes: A current transformer: to increase the output current to 1000 ARMS with a compliance voltage of 4 VRMS max. Integration into a cabinet: the current generator and the transformer are integrated into a cabinet, width 600 mm and height 25 U. This cabinet is equipped with wheels with braking device. On rear panel, there are ventilation grids for a proper ventilation of the generator. All exit points are located on accessible copper bars at the bottom of the cabinet, in the back. ANALOG AC CURRENT GENERATOR HOW TO PILOT THE GENERATOR The current generator is equipped with a control/command card with touchscreen. It has 3 operating modes: Local control: The control/command card with touchscreen on front panel allows to access to all the commands and to display the measurements. Remote control through communication protocols: An Ethernet TCP/IP interface and a RS232 interface allow the remote control with a PC. The generator can be directly controlled via TCP/IP or SCPI instructions, or using our OPS software. Remote control through a PLC: On a connector on rear panel, the generator has a set of analog and digital inputs and outputs for an analog and digital control. These inputs and outputs allow a direct control for a use in an automatic system. When starting, the generator receives its configuration: o Selection of the range on 3 bits, o Setpoint value through a 0~+10VDC analog signal For each test or unit under test, the generator receives basic commands: On, Off. It returns a 0~+10VDC analog voltage which indicates the amplitude of the output current according to the selected range. AC CURRENT GENERATOR DIGITAL INPUTS AND OUTPUTS The software has 2 main screens: Configuration selection Functioning of the selected configuration The configuration screen allows to choose the functioning modes: AUTO PLC (production), AUTO Local (validation tests), TARGETING (dichotomy search used for thresholds research). This screen also allows to select the current range and the current frequency. In AUTO PLC mode, only the setpoints given by the digital and analog inputs coming from the PLC are taken into account, the setpoints programmed on the touch-screen are deactivated. In AUTO Local mode, only the setpoints programmed on the touch-screen are taken into account, analog and digital inputs are not considered. To change the mode, the user chooses it in the drop-down menu Running mode, then validates by press on the button Validate. AUTO mode In AUTO mode, the user can program up to 5 steps in amplitude and in duration. To insert steps without generation, the current must be programmed at zero. At the bottom of the screen are displayed voltage, current and equipment status. Document ref: POC-6000-AC current generator_several ranges-en-v1 - Page 7 / 10
AC CURRENT GENERATOR TARGETING mode In TARGETING mode, are programmed: Amplitude and duration of the 1 st generation (MINI) and of the 2 nd generation (MAXI), The time between the two shots, The maximum number of iterations, The expected accuracy in Amps. The generation operates a series of spaced shots which amplitude is: MINI MAXI ½ (MINI + MAXI) According to the level of the Increase / Decrease digital input, the next current is different: If this input is at the high level, the current will be ¾ (MINI + MAXI) If this input is at the low level, the current will ¼ (MINI + MAXI) And so on for the following iterations. If the difference between the present current and the next current is less than the expected accuracy, the loop stops. Digital inputs and outputs This screen is very useful in maintenance phase or during the adjustment of the communication between the PLC and the generator. This screen allows: Manual forcing of the outputs by checkboxes: the output is at the high level if the box is checked, at the low level if unchecked A status control of inputs: the light is green when the input is at high level, and turned off (gray) when the input is at low level.
