Introduction Slimline and sleek design are the strong visual characteristics of BUVA tempered glass casement, top-hung and bottom-hung windows. Hinges and fastenings are installed directly on to the thermally tempered glass. The windows have a very narrow frame to take maximum advantage of daylight. Tempered glass windows suitable for PVC frames Een sterke eigenschap van BUVA hardglas ramen is de smalle omkadering One of the powerful characteristics of BUVA tempered glass window is the narrow frame. This ensures maximum daylight entry. This is an important argument for choosing tempered glass, particularly in small frames. Special groove-forming profiles now also make it easy to install BUVA tempered glass windows in PVC frames. The aluminium profiles provide a smooth finish to the groove and a connection for the fittings. The ISO-PLUS 2000 series bottom-hung and inward-opening casement windows are equipped with a double stop, providing good performance in wind and water resistance. BUVA tempered glass windows BUVA ISO-1000 and ISO-1000NE tempered glass windows: ISO-1000 double glass top-hung, bottom-hung and casement windows consist of two 5, 6 or 8 mm thick tempered panes of glass, finished with a black or white framework made from one 15 mm wide piece of PVC. They are equipped with stainless steel or black coated metal hinges (ISO-1000NE) and a window opener, or a connection for a window opener. The windows are also available with decorative glass such as Crepi, Chinchilla or Satin. The cavity thickness is 9, 12 or 15 mm. The U-value can vary between 1.2 and 3.0 W/(m².K) depending on the model. Special window shapes (round, arched, or slanted) are possible; ask for more information on all the possibilities. Dimensions and installation Dimensions Ordering tempered glass windows is easy. The aluminium auxiliary profiles are custom supplied and pre-drilled, together with the tempered glass windows. The dimensions of the tempered glass windows and aluminium profiles are determined based on the groove sizes of the frame. The standard aluminium profiles are enamelled in RAL 9001, other RAL colours are of course available to order. The BUVA order forms can be downloaded from buva.nl for a fast and complete ordering process. Installation 1. First, install the aluminium top and bottom profile (cut at right angles) and then the left and right profile (grooved) and screw the profiles tight. 2. Centre the window in the frame, mark off the hole pattern for the hinges and pre-drill them at 4.5 mm through the aluminium profile. 3. Then pre-drill the holes in the frame and the steel box section. Diameter depends on the type of screw used. 4. Place the window and attach the hinges with stainless steel screws that are 4.2 mm wide and of sufficient length (depending on the profile system). 5. Then install the window fastener or striking plates. A number of window fasteners, such as striking plates for bottom-hung windows and combi-stays, are already screwed on.
