INFINITE RANGE - CENTRE FOLDING DOOR CENTRE FOLDING DOOR ONLY ( RECESS) Please read these instructions before installing, as incorrect fitting will invalidate the guarantee-carry out each stage before moving onto the next. Do not dispose of packaging, no claims for missing or damaged parts will be accepted if packaging has been disposed of. There are three sets of instructions enclosed in this pack. Select the set to suit your configuration. 1. Centre Folding Door Only (Recess) 2. Centre Folding Door + 1 Side Return Panel (Corner) 3. Centre Folding Door +2 Side Return Panels (Peninsula) If you are unsure about these instructions please contact Kudos Shower Products: 01539 564040 IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTICE The glass supplied with this enclosure is toughened safety glass in accordance with British Safety Standards. Care should be exercised when handling the glass to avoid knocking or bumping the glass, particularly the edges and corners of the glass as this could cause the glass to shatter into small fragments. It is essential to protect the glass by resting it on a soft protective surface during installation such as cardboard or carpeting. KEY STAGES TO INSTALLATION 1 Check package contents 2 Install wall frames vertical and plumb. 3 Fit fixed glass front panels 4 Fit Head and Bottom rails 5 Adjust, plumb, level then tighten clamps 6 Fit door glass 7 Fit the rail slider assemblies top and bottom 8 Fit the door seals 9 Fit wall profile covers 10 Remove protective film from wall profile covers 11 Fit seals between glass and wall profiles 12 Silicone seal the unit IMPORTANT TOOLS REQUIRED Flat-headed screwdriver - medium Pozi-drive screwdriver - medium Spirit level Tape measure Silicone sealant - clear Electric drill 7mm masonry drill 2mm & 4mm allen keys (supplied) Scissors Pencil Screw wizard tool (supplied) Use this useful screw wizard tool to insert screws through wall profiles into wall and start first one or two turns then use your conventional screw driver. Check appearance of shower enclosure. Any defects must be reported to Kudos Shower Products before assembly / installation. Claims for imperfections will only be accepted prior to assembly / installation Ensure shower tray is level in all directions Prior to installation, any gap or crevice between the rim of the tray and wall must be filled with silicone sealant flush with the rim of the tray - see detail opp. Waterproof walls using ceramic tiles/shower panels etc., before installation. Fully seal between the tiles and the tray BEFORE installing enclosure. Check the enclosure adjustment sizes are suitable for your installation Use care when drilling into walls to avoid hidden pipes or electrical cables CERAMIC TILES SILICONE SEALANT TRAY SILICONE SEALANT CLEANING GENERAL - for frame work and fixings use only warm soapy water and damp cloth/ sponge on a regular basis. After cleaning please rinse with clean water to remove any residue Do not use abrasive scouring powders, chemicals or aerosol cleaners - these may result in damage to the surfaces, in particular, the plated component parts. See instruction below for glass cleaning advice. LIFESHIELD Your Kudos Product is pre-treated with Life Shield on the inside surfaces only. While this makes cleaning the glass a lot easier and helps prevent the build up of harmful lime-scale and soap deposits the glass still needs to be maintained on a regular basis. We recommend the use of a detergent and aroma free glass cleaner (A 50/50 mix of White Vinegar and Water works well!!) Strong detergents and abrasives can damage the coating. DO NOT use abrasive cleaners or abrasive scrubbing equipment for cleaning!! DO use a squeegee to remove remaining droplets of water from glass after showering, any build up of residue can be removed easily using an appropriate cleaner and agitation from soft cleaning equipment THESE INSTRUCTIONS TO BE LEFT WITH THE CUSTOMER

1 2 CONTENTS, carefully check contents. It is advisable to keep contents in protective packing until required. FITTING THE WALL PROFILES, When looking outward from inside of the enclosure, the left wall profile is identified by the green screw which should face the inside of the enclosure and be nearest to the top. Similarly the right wall frame is the one with the red screw which should face the inside of the enclosure and be nearest to the top. (See below Fig.1) Fig. 1 Top of Door IMPORTANT Set wall profiles 15mm back from front edge of tray This is the height adjustment screw which may be required to level the unit in stage 5 15mm When viewed from inside enclosure looking outward (Shown here) Red screw = Right Profile Green screw = Left Profile Check these caps are firmly in place before installing wall profiles as they ensure the fixing (adjustment) brackets are (up) in the correct position. They may be removed if and when adjustment (in to out) is necessary as per stage 3 of these instructions. Facing to inside of enclosure Front edge of Tray This view is as seen from inside enclosure looking out Each wall profile is screwed to the wall with 4 No8x30 screws and wall plugs (provided). Position one wall profile on tray 15mm from front face of tray (see Fig.2) and using a spirit level ensure it is vertical (not leaning backwards or forwards in the opening). Mark the position of the 4 holes on the wall through the wall profile. Remove wall profile and drill holes in wall using 7mm masonry drill bit. 4 IDENTIFY HEAD AND BOTTOM RAILS, The bottom rail has two hexagonal height adjusting screws and the top rail is without. This plastic hexagonal head is on the bottom rail only. Fig. 4 Top Rail with hinge side of door on the left when viewed from Inside the enclosure Stops to be on the side you wish to be the hinging side of the door Bottom Rail 3 15mm Outside Front Face of Tray Tray Insert wall plugs provided (or fixings to suit the construction of your walls) screw wall profile into position. Then repeat stage 2 for the other wall profile. Use spirit level to check the wall profiles are vertical. If not, adjust using the lateral adjustment screws: (see Guide to Adjustments in stage 12 of these instructions to identify the lateral adjustment screws) FITTING GLASS PANELS, Place one narrow panel into the wall profile with the slotted holes towards the door opening. The bottom seal should rest on the tray with the soft flange facing inwards. Gently tighten the glass clamp screws, see Fig.21 (do not fully tighten at this stage, just take up the slack). Similarly Fit the other narrow panel to opposite wall profile and gently tighten the glass clamp screws only taking up the slack at this stage. Slide the panels so that the door opening is set correctly (see Fig. 3) and is central on the tray. Setting Dimension A For 760 door set to 450mm For 800 door set to 490mm For 900 door set to 590mm For 1000 door set to 640mm For 1200 door set to 640mm Looking into wall profile showing top 2 fixing holes. Closing side Fig. 2 Hinge side Soft flanges rest on tray faces inside Fig. 3 See Guide to adjustments in stage 12 of these instructions ENSURE PANELS ARE VERTICAL WHEN SET AND DOOR OPENING IS CENTRAL ON THE TRAY. DO NOT pull out either panel beyond the guide line marks on the glass at the top & bottom positions. This line must not protrude outside the wall profile or the glass clamp will not grip the glass. Do not fully tighten glass clamp screws at this stage. See Fig 21a A 5 FIT HEAD AND BOTTOM RAILS, on the hinge side as shown in Fig.5 below, screw fix plastic lug using No.6 x 20 CSK screw, this will hold the rail in place temporarily until the doors are installed. Fix the opposite end by fitting the clamp plate from fitting pack, inside and screw fix into rail, see Fig.6 WHEN FITTING RAILS TO GLASS PANELS, ENSURE THE FLANGE OF THE RAIL IS PRESSED AGAINST THE EDGE OF THE GLASS PANEL TOP & BOTTOM Centre the hole in the rail with the glass notch Fig. 5 TOP RAIL HINGE SIDE VIEWED FROM INSIDE Fig. 6 TOP RAIL CLOSING SIDE VIEWED FROM INSIDE Use these lugs (provided) to fit rails on hinge side, top and bottom Fix opposite end of the rails (closing side) using the clamp plates Similarly fit the bottom rail using the lug on the hinge side and the clamp on the opposite end (closing side). 6a FITTING THE DOOR, place the small spacer block so that it is resting on the bottom rail approximately in the position as shown below. This will be used to rest the door glass in position while fitting. 6c In order to position the door correctly, begin by moving the bottom hinge so that the fixed panel glass fits snugly into the corner of the hinge bracket as indicated below. This is the reference position of Fig 11 later in these instructions 6b Fig 7 Carefully lift the folding door from the packaging and hold as shown inside the enclosure ready to offer into position. small spacer block, rest on lip of rail Fixed panel glass Fig 11 Door glass This glass edge to fit neatly into the corner of the hinge here Fig 8 POSITION THE DOOR GLASS IN 3 EASY STEPS: i) Rest the hinge side glass of the folding door on your foot with the folding door panels slightly opened as in Fig.8 6d With the bottom hinge held firmly in position against the fixed panel glass as above, fit the M6x30 screw into the bottom hinge and loosely tighten. Next fit the top hinge screw and tighten - if the thread does not line up, loosen the hinge on the glass and align, then re-tighten. Now ensure both hinge screws are fully tightened. Open the door and discard the spacer block. Place foot under hinge side door panel. Top Magnet Point at Centre Hold glass at sides as indicated Fig 9 ii) Swing door glass into flat position and supporting glass in hands, remove foot from under glass, then offer glass into the opening between the two fixed glass panels. Rest the bottom edge of the glass on the spacer block (Fig. 9) Rest glass on spacer block at bottom Top Hinge Top Magnets Fig 10 Bottom Magnets iii) Now slide the glass door into position central between the two fixed glass panels so that the central magnets top and bottom pull the door glass into the frame. You will feel the glass held in position by the magnets when correctly positioned. Before fitting the slides in this next stage, ensure the stops as shown in Fig. 4 of Stage 4 are positioned on the hinging side of the door (opposite side to slides) and secured vertically above each other by tightening the grub screws. For maximum access, the stops should not be tightened. 7a 7b 7c FIT THE SLIDES. Insert the top slide on the closing side of the door into the rail by tilting the slide and lowering the rectangular slide into the track of the rail. Tilt the slide and offer it into the rail as shown. Now push up and into the rail. Slide will run smoothly in the track when correctly fitted. Fig. 14 Fig. 13 PLEASE CHECK THE FUNCTION OF THE DOORS BEFORE MOVING ONTO THE NEXT STAGE If door gets stiffer on opening or closing, please check all vertical and horizontal levels, and that the door panels have not dropped on their hinges. If anything is out of level, use adjustments available to correct this. If the door has dropped, then re-hang the door, ensuring that the Allen screws are fully tightened. If the door judders on sliding, then please apply Vaseline to the top and bottom tracks. 9 FITTING THE INSIDE WALL PROFILE COVERS Care should be used when handling these covers, before they are fitted to the wall profiles. Engage the back edge of the wall profile cover over full height of the butterfly profile and then swivel the cover around to engage over the front of the wall profile and clip into position. NOTE ensure the narrow edge fully engages the butterfly profile over the FULL HEIGHT before swivelling the wider edge onto the front of the wall profile or the cover may not engage correctly. Black plastic Butterfly bracket 1 Narrow edge engages the butterfly brackets first Narrow Edge NOTE: full size line image shown for clarity Wide Edge 7d Position slide over centre of cut out in glass and loosely secure with m6x16 screw, do not fully tighten at this stage. GLASS CUT OUT Fig. 15 2 Wide edge swivels around to engage front of wall profile Fig. 18 8 Repeat the above to fit the bottom slide. Fig. 16 Rail shown in section to show track for slides. ADJUST SLIDE ACTION, The sliding action should be smooth and running freely. If this is not the case, slacken the bottom slide then position slide as shown in Fig. 17. Now repeat for the top slide. This ensures there is no pressure on the rails from the slides. Position slides as shown here. Slides should be set so as not to make contact with the rails at top and bottom. 1,6mm No contact between rail and slide. 1,6mm 10 FITTING THE GLASS PANEL SEALS. Remove the plastic protective film from the wall profile covers at this time by peeling it away. NEXT Fit the glass seals at junction of glass 11 and wall profiles. Fit to side fixed glass panel Fit glass edge seals to both inner and outer faces of two fixed panels at junction of wall profiles and glass Tip [wet the seals with water to make them easier to insert] This face goes against glass Fig. 19 This pointed edge goes inside wall profile This recess edge seats onto wall profile edge FITTING THE DOOR SEALS. There are two longer seals and one shorter seal similar to those shown in Fig. 20 below. The longer seals fit to the fixed glass panels either side of the door. Press these over the glass ensuring they are fully seated over the entire length between the top and bottom chrome castings. Next fit the door closing seal at centre on the handle side. 12 GUIDE TO ADJUSTMENTS 13 The unit is designed to enable 3 dimensional adjustment during installation without removing any part of the unit already installed. The diagram here illustrates the adjustments possible and their location. Line must not protrude outside of wall profile 1 5 Up & Down In & Out Fit the wall post top cover caps using the No.6x12 screws provided. Line markings on glass at top and bottom must not protrude outside of wall profile after adjusting panels as this will result in the clamps not gripping the glass fully 14 2 6 In & Out GUIDE 1. Clamp 2. Clamp 3. Clamp 4. Height Adjuster 5. Top Lateral Adj 6. Bottom Lateral Adj 4 CLOSING STRENGTH If necessary you can adjust the strength of the magnetic closing action. To do this simply loosen the Allen Key screws securing the closing magnets in the rail and offset these. As a rough guide offsetting these by 10mm will halve the closing strength. Once you have achieved a suitable strength re-tighten the Allen Key grub screws. Closing Magnets viewed from the inside. 3 1 You can now decide whether you prefer the more traditional look for the handle or the sleeker minimalist look with the spring loaded knob removed. To remove the knob do the following: 1. Remove the grey button cover from the knob. 2. Remove screw using 4mm Allen Key. 3. Remove the spring loaded knob. 4. Push fit the black internal cover to the inside of the handle. Seal to the wall over the full height on the inside and outside of the enclosure 15 SEAL THE ENCLOSURE, using a clear silicone sealant apply a thin bead to all the edges as shown. To achieve a neat finish it is recommended that each joint to be sealed is masked either side with masking tape so that only a maximum of 3mm either side of the joint is exposed. The masking tape should then be removed immediately after sealing. (DO NOT allow silicone to dry over masking tape). Run sealant up both sides of the gaskets where they meet the wall profiles and bottom rail. Do this on both fixed panels to the left and right of the door on the OUTSIDE ONLY IMPORTANT DO NOT SEAL TO THE TRAY ON THE INSIDE OF THE ENCLOSURE DO NOT USE OR DISTURB THE ENCLOSURE FOR 24 HOURS AFTER SEALING TO ALLOW THE SILICONE TO DRY
