Inside you will find all information related to our quilt show in October including quilt submission guidelines and forms. We are adding vendors and classes back this year. Note we have a new location. It s more accessible but slightly smaller. We encourage you to note the quilt submission deadlines so you are not disappointed at the last minute.

Friday, October 23 Glorious Clams Instructor: Peggy Gelbrich 9:30am 4:30pm One of our guild s favorite teachers, Peggy brings us her most popular class featuring this stunning quilt. It s a fun quilt to make and it's not as difficult as it looks. Peggy assures us that even confident beginners are successful in this class. You'll learn foundation piecing using freezer paper. With this technique there is no paper to tear away from the back. You'll also learn curved piecing. This quilt will appear in the November issue of Quilters Newsletter. MORE WORKSHOP INFORMATION Friday, October 23 Quilted Bag Instructor: Mary Calahan 9:30am 4:30pm This quilted bag is roomy and includes three zippers, two with pockets and one for the bag closing. It also has other inside pockets. If you have never worked with zippers before, you can easily learn how in this class. In addition you will have the opportunity to create a one of a kind bag for yourself. Bag is approximately 13-1/2 wide, 14 high and 4-1/2 deep. Class Fee: $50 Front Saturday, October 24 Free Motion Quilting Instructor: Christina Cameli Back Christina has a fun, infectious style, and a passion for getting quilters to try new things and making complicated things simple. This class is for absolute beginners and those with experience wishing to improve their free-motion skills. We will cover setting up your machine, basting and getting started. Lots of practice time in this class and opportunity for help and guidance from Christina. The last two hours of class we focus on a project from Christina's book, First Steps to Free-Motion Quilting. From the east: Take Exit #63 off I84, turn left over the freeway. Go 1/4 mile south and turn right onto Oak St. Go.6 mile. Turn left onto 13th St. at the light. BOTH: On 13th St. go.6 mile up the hill staying in right lane. Turn right onto Belmont Ave. You are turning before you get to the curve. Immediately turn left just past the 1301 restaurant. Stay left to go into the Armory parking lot. Quilt Market The Quilt Market will be open during Quilt Show hours again this year. We ll be offering your gently used quilt or crafting related items for sale to benefit our guild. We d love to have books, magazines, fabrics, tools, gadget, rulers, threads, patterns, etc. After you donate, be sure to come and shop while you re at the quilt show. Someone else s trash can be your treasure! We will accept your donations starting at the August meeting BUT if you can bring your items directly to the Armory on Thursday, Oct. 22 that would be our first choice. Enter Your Quilt 6 GUIDELINES Shipped quilts must be insured and must include a prepaid return mailing label for the quilt. Quilts must be shipped US Postal Service or UPS only, please do NOT use Fed Ex. All quilts 25 or wider must have a 4 sleeve. Quilts longer than 96 will hang pinned and folded. Judged quilts must have been completed within two years prior to date of this quilt show. Quilts must be complete (no quilt tops.) All quilts must be clean and odor/smoke/pet hair free. Send one completed entry form for each quilt. The entry form may be photocopied. Remember to sign your form! A photograph of your quilt must be included with your entry form, with your name on the back. Photos will be used for identification purposes only and may not be returned. Attach the top half of the Quilt Label form to the back of your quilt. Keep the Claim check section for your records. Your signed claim check MUST be presented to pick-up your quilt. Every effort will be made to safeguard quilt entries. However, quilts should be insured through the entrant s insurance company. CRGQG reserves the right to reassign an entry to the most appropriate category. Quilts will be hung at the discretion of CRGQG.
