Cheyenne Heritage Quilters Patchwork Update AUGUST 2018 Dedicated to encouraging and broadening quilter creativity, sharing quilting knowledge, exhibiting quilting accomplishments and contributing to the community NOTE FROM OUR PRESIDENT Note from Mary Ellen Little It is August, QUILT SHOW MONTH. Hopefully everyone has finished their projects and have entered them in the show. We have all put time and effort into our quilts and should be proud to display them. The opportunity quilt is on display at the Laramie County Fair right now. It is getting some good attention, lot of OOHs and AAHs, even selling some tickets. I may be repeating what others have written, but it is important to support the show by selling tickets for the quilt, volunteering a few hours during the show, or contributing to the boutique and bake sale. We presented Linda Price with a great collection of purple and white quilt blocks at the last meeting. It was her last before moving to Arizona with her family. Yes, we managed to keep it a surprise because she had no idea about the blocks. Members who went to Quilt Wyoming showed us what they learned and accomplished in their classes. We can look forward to some completed show and tell during the coming year. Several members from the Torrington guild joined us and showed what their group has been doing. We have been invited to join them for a meeting, probably in October. More information to come. I hope everyone survived the recent crazy weather and has had a good summer. See you at the Quilt Show. Please call or email me if you might be interested or have any other questions or thoughts about the show or CHQ. mlittle71@bresnan.net 631-9522 Mary Ellen Little LIBRARY SEW: Cathy James The last Tuesday of the Month is Library Sew time. Bring your handwork, machine or just come to socialize. We meet in the Willow Room from 1 p.m to 4 p.m. Mark your calendars for Tuesday, August 28th and/or Tuesday, September 25, 2018. Everyone is welcome! Quilts of Valor: Marilyn Lanham. Quilts of Valor will meet August 7 from 9-4 at Our Savior Lutheran Church on east Dell Range Blvd. For more information call Marilyn Lanham at 635-9246 or email mlanham@bresnan.net
