GREATER GRAND FORKS FAIR & EXHIBITION HOME ARTS AND CRAFTS SHOW The Greater Grand Forks Fair & Exhibition Invites Entries from all counties and all states. Prizes will be as follows in all lots: Blue Ribbon 1st... $5.00 and 3 points Red Ribbon 2nd... $3.00 and 2 points White Ribbon 3rd... $1.00 and 1 point A Champion and Reserve will be selected in each class. A special prize of $10 is offered by the Grand Forks Fair to the exhibitor in each division that is awarded the most points. A special champion ribbon will be selected for the top exhibit in each of the divisions. HOME ARTS FAIR RULES 1. The General Rules and Regulations as published in the 2018premium book will govern these departments. 2. Entry clerks will receive exhibits at the commercial exhibitors building at the fairgrounds Tuesday, June 19th between 4:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. 3. Exhibits must be the work of the exhibitor. All entries must be clean, and in good condition for display. All exhibits must have been completed since July 22017 4. Should any exhibits be entered in the wrong class the superintendent may make proper corrections to the exhibit entry. 5. Exhibitors may enter more than one entry in each class. Limit of 3 per lot. 6. If it be ascertained that an exhibitor has made any false statement in regard to any article or exhibitor, if any exhibitor shall attempt to harass or interfere with the judge or judges in the performance of their duties, the exhibitor shall be excluded from competition and forfeit all premiums. 7. All premium money will be paid from the awards as marked by the judges and not from ribbons that may be attached to the exhibits. Judges are instructed not to award a premium or premiums unless article(s) is/are deemed worthy. 8. All possible care will be taken to prevent loss or damage to exhibits but in no event will the Grand Forks Fair be responsible for any injury or loss which may occur. 9. Items entered in previous years fairs cannot be reentered. 10. The Grand Forks Fair reserves the right to reject any exhibit offered if it is objectionable in any way, if it requires an excessive amount of space or if the capacity of the department has been reached.

THE GRAND FORKS FAIR IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE EXHIBITS IN THE HOME ARTS FAIR...HOWEVER, SECURITY WILL BE PROVIDED 24 HOURS PER DAY. There are youth and junior divisions. The youth division is under age 12 and the junior division is 12-17 years old. Participants must either exhibit as a youth, junior, or an adult; exhibitors cannot split their entries. THE GRAND FORKS FAIR IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR AND WILL DISPOSE OF ANY ARTICLES NOT PICKED UP BY RELEASE TIME WHICH IS FROM 6:00 P.M. TO 7:00 P.M. SUNDAY, JUNE 24 th, UNLESS OTHER ARRANGEMENTS HAVE BEEN MADE.

DIVISION I GARDENING Outer protective skin on onions should not be removed. Show onions with a 1" stem. Show root crops with 1" tops and taproot (if possible). Beans and peas are to be shown on a paper plate. A special prize of $10 is offered by the Grand Forks Fair to the Exhibitor in this Division that is awarded the most points. DIVISION IV - FOOD PRESERVATION Jars used for canning should be standard quarts or pints and exhibited with rings. (Nonstandard jars may be dropped a placing). Please provide two (2) jars - one will be opened for judging. Label canned goods for process time and method. Dates of canned goods must be between July 2017 - June 2018. A special prize of $10 is offered by the Grand Forks Fair to the exhibitor in this division that wins the most points. Written recipe must accompany exhibit.
