WORKSHOP W4 Wednesday, November 9 8:45 a.m. 9:45 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. 11:15 a.m. WORKFORCE CHALLENGES: DON T LET THE SHIFT HIT THE FAN Presented by Amy Hobbs Iannone Insurance Risk Manager DPR Construction Shannon Lawless Assistant Vice President Risk Engineering Consultant XL Catlin Justin Sheets Vice President, Legal and Risk Management Matrix Service Company Look around your job sites. Under the hardhats, baseball caps, and welding hoods, you probably see a lot of gray hair. That gray hair represents experience. The accumulated skills, safety habits, and maturity of older workers set a good example for younger workers. But older workers present risks of their own, including an increased likelihood of serious injury and the loss of expertise to mass retirements. This session will offer insights into how to counter these risks in light of the challenges of attracting new talent to the construction industry and help you prepare for these realities before the shift hits the fan.
