THE JUNE PAINT IN WAS DELIGHTFUL! Paint-In Report-Bev Our June Paint-In was a Deb Mishima design taught by Sherri Lee and almost everyone finished in class. Sherri is a great teacher and shared lots of tips with us on dry brushing, products for sealing projects, and stenciling. We really appreciated her driving from the Valley to teach us.

PAINT-INS JULY Flo McLean will be teaching Snowy Church. You will need a 9x12 canvas board. Cost for pattern and prep instructions is $4. AUGUST Judy Lopez will be teaching Welcome Summer on the back of the Spring piece we did with her. Cost for pattern and prep instructions is $4. Bev will have them at the July meeting.

SILENT AUCTION Jo painted a pot with a real live cactus on top! and the lucky winner is Bev. Sheryl donated an angel memory box painted by Jane and the lucky winner is Jo. Those that signed up to bring a piece are: July August September October November Bev Morn Marcia Mallicoat Jody Glaser Sheryal Gentles Kate Toth

OUR FOURTH ANNUAL FUNDRAISER S Completed items are coming in. Surfaces that can be painted are at each meeting if you would like to choose things to paint. Or use surfaces of your own. Jody, our Chairwoman, encourages everyone to participate. Keep those brushes moving! Items brought in at the June meeting.

SEMINAR NEWS I will have all surfaces and prep instructions at our July meeting. I will need to have final count of the surfaces needed for each piece by our July meeting so I can get them in time for the August meeting for everyone to prep. I am once again really excited about our upcoming seminar and feel this will be a great one. The teacher will be using a camera set up so everyone will be able to see nicely. Thanks, Bev Morn. LIBT will be hosting a seminar with Susie Lockwood on Saturday and Sunday, September 1 & 2, 2018 9:30 am 4:00 pm at Mountain Artists Guild This year our seminar will be held Saturday and Sunday, September 1st and 2nd from 9:30 to 4pm. Cost for each day will be $30.00 to LIBT and packet fee of $4.00. The Board has decided to try having a teacher come who is proficient at teaching all of the various artists designs. Her name is Susie Lockwood from San Jose, CA. Here is her biography: Susie Lockwood has been teaching for over 35 years. She started taking classes in the 70 s in oils then moved on to acrylics when they came out. Barbara Nielsen was one of her first teachers. She has a home studio and has taught for her chapter as well as many local chapters in CA as well as a couple out of state. She has taught in the local adult ed. programs. Susie enjoys all styles of decorative painting. She has designed, been published and taught at National. Susie and her husband, Paul, own and operate Creative Woodworks. They make wood products for decorative painters. She also coordinates and hosts a Zhostovo seminar every year with Misha Lebedev, a Russian Floral Zhostovo painter. On Saturday we have chosen for her to teach a Jamie Mills-Price design on a barrel stave. It is one in a series of seasonal designs and the other side can be painted on with another in the series. The cost for the wood will be $5.00 and as stated before pattern fee of $4.00. There will be prep work and this will be in Deco/Art Americana colors.

On Sun. we have chosen a Rosemary West design on a tray. This piece will be ordered from Bear With Us and it has little ball feet so it can set on a counter or hang on a wall. The cost for this piece is $7.50. I am going to check with them to see if we can arrange a chapter discount as we will have to pay shipping. There will be no prep work for this piece, it will all be done in class. (Except to seal your wood.) You will need to bring a roller and Lamp Black to base coat. We will be using Jo Sonja colors for the piece and the teacher will bring them. There is a $2.00 pallet fee for these. We should finish both pieces each day. We will do a potluck of salads, cold meat and cheeses, and rolls. I will do the sign-ups for this starting in July. Chapter provides coffee and water. Thank You, Bev Saturday Sunday

BIRTHDAY RAFFLE The Mexican pot painted by Sheryl was won by Bev. The Fourth of July piece painted by Jody was won by Tava. Dreamflies painted by Angel was won by Cheryl.
