Letters and messages to board members may be directed to the Commonwealth Honors College office at info@honors.umass.edu. Commonwealth Honors College Advisory Board Peter L. Bloom, Chair Mr. Bloom is president and co-founder of Customer Operations Performance Center and president of Global Quality and Customer Experience at Aegis Limited. He graduated from UMass Amherst with a degree in political science in 1978 and earned an MBA from Harvard Business School. In addition to the Commonwealth Honors College Advisory Board, Mr. Bloom has also served on the UMass Amherst Foundation Board of Directors. He has served as a member of the CHC Advisory Board since 2005. Tina Brown-Stevenson 1

Ms. Brown-Stevenson is SVP, Health System Analytics and Decision Support for UnitedHealthcare (UHC). She is a Certified Managed Care executive who received an MA degree in Health Administration from Framingham State College (now University), a BS degree in Nursing from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, and has completed post-graduate work in health informatics. She serves on the board of trustees of the Connecticut Health Foundation and the board of the UnitedHealth Foundation, and has served on the boards of the Aurora Foundation for Women and Girls and the Aetna Foundation. In 2010, her contributions to health care earned her national recognition in the annual Women Worth Watching issue of the Profiles in Diversity Journal. Ms. Brown-Stevenson has served as a member of the Commonweatlh Honors College Advisory Board since 2012. Donna Eden Cohen Founder and principal of Donna Cohen Strategies, Ms. Cohen provides strategic advice to clients at critical junctures. She brings 30 years of experience practicing law to her individual, corporate, and non-profit clients. Ms. Cohen graduated from UMass Amherst with a degree in communication and earned a JD from Suffolk University School of Law. She also serves on the Conservatory Lab Charter School Foundation, Suffolk University Board of Visitors, UMass Club Board of Governors, and EdVESTORS Education Review Panel. She has been a member of the CHC Advisory Board since 2008. Richard Cooksen Mr. Cooksen graduated from UMass Amherst in 2005 with degrees in legal studies and economics. As a student he served on the Commonwealth Honors College Student Advisory Board. He started his career at Goldman Sachs and is currently pursuing an MBA at C.T. Bauer School of Business at the University of Houston in Texas. He has been a member of the CHC Advisory Board since 2006. Peter DiGiammarino Mr. DiGiammarino is the CEO of Intelliven LLC. He graduated from UMass in 1975 with a Bachelor s Degree with Individual Concentration, combining mathematics, economics, and computer science, and earned an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management. He has also served on the UMass Amherst Foundation Board of Directors. He has been a member of the CHC Advisory Board since 1997. Paul Friedmann Dr. Friedmann, a surgeon, has served as the executive director for the Pioneer Valley Life Sciences Institute and as senior vice president for academic affairs at Baystate Medical system. He earned a BA from the University of Pennsylvania, an MD from Harvard Medical School, and an MBA from UMass Amherst. In addition to his service on the Commonwealth Honors College Advisory Board, he is a member of the University of Massachusetts High Tech Executive Council. He joined the CHC Advisory Board in 2009. Jennifer Hanes-Schromm 3

Ms. Hanes is executive vice president of product strategy for the Ambit Corporate Banking solution suite at Sungard Financial Systems. Ms. Hanes has worked in the financial services industry for more than 20 years. Prior to joining SunGard in 2004, she held a variety of roles in product development, strategy, operations and marketing. In addition to her current coverage of corporate banking, Ms. Hanes has experience in capital markets and risk management. She holds a BA summa cum laude from the University of Massachusetts and an MBA from Boston University. Ms. Hanes has served as a member of the Commonwealth Honors College Advisory Board since 2012. Melvin Howard Mr. Howard retired as vice chairman of Xerox. He graduated from UMass Amherst with a degree in Economics in 1957 and 4

earned an MBA at Columbia University. In addition to the Commonwealth Honors College Advisory Board, he serves on the UMass Amherst Foundation Board of Directors. He served as the founding chairman of the CHC Advisory Board until 2014. Roger S. Lewenberg Judge Lewenberg is an administrative judge at the Department of Industrial Accidents in Boston, MA. He graduated from UMass Amherst in 1974 with a Bachelor s Degree with Individual Concentration and earned a JD from Suffolk Law School. He has served on the CHC Advisory Board since 1997. Sam Laorenza Mr. Laorenza is an advisor with the Northwestern Mutual Financial Network. He graduated from the University of Massachusetts with a degree in finance, was a member of Commonwealth Honors College, and a member of the Track and Field team. Mr. Laorenza has served as a member of the Commonwealth Honors College Advisory Board since 2012. Matthew O. Littlefield Mr. Littlefield is a vice president at Barclays Wealth. He graduated from UMass Amherst in 1999 with majors in legal studies and English. In addition to the Commonwealth Honors College Advisory Board, he serves on the UMass Amherst Foundation Board of Directors, and is president of the Board of the Providence Children s Museum. He joined the CHC Advisory Board in 2001. Beth McGoldrick Ms. McGoldrick is a three-time UMass parent of Mary Jenkins 07, Cecelia Jenkins 09, and Elizabeth Jenkins 12 and previously served on the UMass Parent and Family Council. Currently she is assistant vice president, public relations, for John Hancock in Boston, with 18 years experience in PR for the financial services/asset management industry. Prior to that she was a financial journalist, as a writer for Institutional Investor Magazine and also as a contributor to numerous financial publications. She holds a bachelor's from Mount Holyoke College, and a master's in journalism and an MBA from Columbia University. A longtime resident of Acton, Massachusetts, she now resides in Boston. She joined the Commonwealth Honors College Advisory Board in 2016. John Morton Mr. Morton serves on the Board of Directors for VirtualAgility. He retired as a senior partner at Wilmer Hale LLC. He graduated from UMass Amherst in 1966 with a degree in mathematics and earned a JD at Harvard University Law School. He has served on the CHC Advisory Board since 2000. 5

Charles Saber Mr. Saber is a Partner in the Washington, D.C. office of Dickstein Shapiro LLP, where he specializes in litigation of intellectual property cases. He graduated magna cum laude from UMass in 1976, receiving a degree in Political Science. While at UMass, Mr. Saber was enrolled in the Honors Program. Mr. Saber also earned in JD degree from The Georgetown University Law Center. Mr. Saber has served as a member of the Commonwealth Honors College Advisory Board since 2012. Peter Trovato Mr. Trovato graduated magna cum laude from UMass Amherst in 2005 with degrees in political science and journalism and as a member of Commonwealth Honors College. He played two seasons of professional ice hockey before joining Summit Partners in Boston and earning his MBA from Harvard Business School in 2012. He is currently a managing director of Copley Equity Partners and serves as chairman of the Massachusetts Soldiers Legacy Fund, a charitable trust he founded in 2004 while a student at UMass. The Fund provides education-focused grants to the children of fallen US service members. He has served as a member of the CHC Advisory Board since 2008. Henry Turner Dr. joined the Commonwealth Honors College Advisory Board in 2016. He is principal at Newton North High School, having served previously as principal at Bedford High School, housemaster at Newton South High School, and teacher at Lexington High School. He earned his doctorate at Boston College, masters at Framingham State University, and undergraduate degree in history from UMass Amherst, where he was on the varsity swimming team. David Weisblat Mr. Weisblat is of counsel and a transactional tax lawyer with Foley & Lardner LL. He regularly advises clients on renewable energy projects, domestic and cross-border energy and project finance transactions, and tax issues associated with climate change policies. He graduated from UMass Amherst with a degree in political science in 1975 and earned a JD from the University of Virginia School of Law. He has served as a member of the Commonwealth Honors College Advisory Board since 2012. Paul K. Williamson Dr. Williamson is a board certified internist and rheumatologist, recently retired as senior director of clinical research & development and product development team leader with Janssen R&D, a part of the Johnson & Johnson Famiy of Companies. He now serves 6

on the advisory panel of the Harrington Discovery Institute. He earned his B.S. from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 1974 and his M.D. from the University of Massachusetts Medical School.
