1. Introduction The Maverick GRS.10 consists of an advanced Taoglas GNSS patch antenna and u- blox NEO-M8U GNSS receiver with RS-232 interface, all enclosed in a robust, IP67 waterproof through-hole mount enclosure. The integrated antenna removes additional loss brought on by the coaxial cables of external antennas, which results in better signal quality and acquisition times. This allows for longer cable runs during installation without degrading signal performance. Both the integrated antenna and receiver are capable of receiving GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, and BeiDou signals. The GRS.10 has been designed to withstand automotive load dump and other transients encountered in the automotive environment, as defined in ISO16750-2, ISO 7637-2, and ISO7637-3 without damage or user intervention. The provided RS232 interface allows for direct access to the ublox NEO-M8U module to receive location data in the supported formats as well as for device configuration. The configurable Timepulse output of the ublox NEO-M8U is accessible on the multiconductor cable for precise timing applications. A power control line is also provided to turn the device on and off. The integrated ublox NEO-M8U module is capable of untethered dead reckoning, which provides continuous navigation without the need for speed information from the vehicle. This is useful for areas with challenging signal conditions such as urban environments, tunnels, parking garages, etc. Please refer to the ublox NEO-M8U product documentation for more information.
