It has been a great experience being President this past year and I learned a great deal, discovered a lot of wonderful friends and had a good me. I d like to thank all the members of the new Board and thank them in advance for their service. We have elected a powerhouse of talent and experience and I am looking forward to all the spectacular things they and we will do in the future. Mee ng Minutes April 12, 2018 - Quality Inn The mee ng was called to order by President Victoria Frances at 6:30 p.m. Mo on to approve the March 8, 2018 minutes made by Kathy Lischefske; second by Carolyn Frost; mo on carried. President Victoria Frances turned the mee ng over to Phyllis Barton for the elec on of officers for the 2018-2019 term: President Cathy Geer First VP-Educa on Mindy Hoium Second VP-Membership Karen Bock and Barbara Smith Treasurer Deanna Pepe Secretary Sherri Ashford and Mary Beth Peters Mo on to cast a unanimous ballot for the slate of officers as presented made by Diane Peterson; second by Gail Bengston; mo on carried. Mary Beth Peters then announced the following open posi ons/changes and asked for volunteers: Community Outreach Mona Bolen (Chair) and Linda Higuera Newsle er Mar Layne Library Victoria Frances Historian Open Na onal Quil ng Day Open Publicity Open Winners of the 50/50 prizes were Zola Stuart, Dee Nolan and Beverly Columbus. Second VP-Membership Mindy Hoium reported that there were 76 members and 3 guests present this evening. She then discussed the process of how to renew membership in AQG on line and offered to show members how to do it. President Victoria Frances read a thank you note from Calvary Church thanking the Havasu Stitchers for the quilts and pillowcases donated to the Heart-to-Heart ministry. Treasurer reported a cash available for use figure of $15,113 and also reported on the Route to the River AQG Spring Mee ng hosted by Havasu S tchers on April 14. Meeting Highlights Many thanks to those that made quilts for the foster children at Child Help Village. I collected 17 quilts at the April Mtg. I will con nue to collect for those who are s ll willing to make quilts. Most of the children have received quilts and we will be needing quilts for the children who arrive at the village in the future. 13
