Handle Panels with Care Compact Laminate panels are very dense and durable panels, however if they are mistreated, stored or handled incorrectly it could potentially damage the panels. To prevent any damage please read and take notice of the following diagrams: Storage & Handling Conditions
Cleaning & Maintenance of Duralam Panels Compact Laminate has a non-porous surface which is easy to clean. The decorative and homogenous core of the Duralam Compact Laminate Panels are impervious and resistant to most commonly used cleaning agents and disinfectants. Recommended Cleaning Products: Ajax Spray & Wipe Water & Soap PL Removing Extreme Soiling: Extreme soiling such as dust, dirt, food, juice etc that has accumulated over time should be removed following the process outlined below: Apply hot water and an interiors detergent or soap based cleaning agent, applied with a sponge or soft nylon brush. Apply the diluted cleaning agent to the surface and leave it to soak for a period of time. Then rinse off with clean water and dry with an absorbent cloth. Don t Use: Any highly acidic or alkaline products should be refrained from being used Sandpaper or any other course material Other Useful Tips: If any chemical solution has been applied to the board, it should be washed off in order protect the panels. Apply CRC to hinges and door locks when required in order to free up and smoothen the movements. What Tools are needed? Skill Saw - used with a fine-tooth tungsten tipped blade Sandpaper Drop Saw Note 1: Other power tools such as planner, multi-tool, jig-saw and sander may be needed. Glue Gun / Caulking Gun Tape Measure Note 2: other general hand tools such as squares and levels are advised to be on site as they Hole-saw Set may also be required. Knife Note 3: if other supplier are necessary such as drill bits and double sided tape they will be Hammer provided by Duraplan as part of the main package. Installation Process - Framed Walls in Wet Areas Double sided tape is used in conjunction with adhesives to provide temporary support during adhesive cure Step 1. Begin wall panelling installation by fixing an aluminium extrusion Step 2. Pre-fit each sheet before applying adhesive tape to ensure it fits correctly Step 3. Wipe down the back surface of the sheet where the glue and 3m tape is to be adhered with the adhesive activator supplied in order to guarantee maximum bonding Step 4. Ensure all bond surfaces are clean, dry and free rom dirt, duct, oils or any other surface contaminants Step 5. Apply primer (spray) to where glue and tape will make contact to ensure maximising bonding and wipe clean Step 6. Apply 300mm sections of double sided tape to the back of the panel at 400mm centres Compact Laminate Wall Panelling Compact Wall Step 7. Apply beads of glue 100mm long, no less than 10mm in diameter, onto the back on the panel at 300mm centres between the strips of tape. Ensure that the glue is far enough away from the glue so it doesn t interfere with the tape Flooring Solid Wall
Step 8. Remove the tape backing, place the panel into the desired position with one side in a fixed aluminium joiner and apply pressure to ensure full contact over the entire surface area of the panel Step 9. Insert next aluminium joiner on to the end of the sheet ensuring to allow for expansion. Fox the aluminium jointer to the substrate using countersunk screws or nails. Compact Laminate Wall Panelling Step 10. Insert the aluminium jointer and continue the process. Step 11. Insert capping jointers to the top and bottom of the sheet were required Note: Holes for piping and electrical wiring may need to be cut out before fitting sheets. Note: Windows and other components may need to be cut away as per normal process. Compact Laminate Wall Note: For internal corners make sure both walls are nogged and straight. Fix one sheet in place. Next Butt internal joiner to the first sheet and fix in place, followed by the second (return sheet) in place and continue. Flooring Solid Wall
