If exact dimensions and angles are necessary, we recommend an all-sided blank. Edge Processing To mill bevels electric hand planes with bevel or bevel grooves can be used or hand routers. Expansion / Contraction Max Exterior shrinks when it loses moisture and expands when it absorbs moisture. Calculate: overall length 500 = change in length Curved Max Exterior Panels Top and bottom edge profiles (2mm thick) must be pre-bent. Only sliding line fastenings are allowed (no point fastenings). The straight ends and joints of the exterior panels must likewise be edged. (U-profile, H-profile). Min. radius 3m(9'-10") and min. length 1.3m(4'-3"). Sealent The use of sealant compounds must be avoided as they can cause permanent staining to Max Exterior panels. MAX EXTERIOR PRODUCT INFORMATION 2
Panel Joints To be minimum 8mm wide for vertical and horizontal joints. The wider any joint, the less noticeable are inaccuracies in width. Therefore typical joint width used is 13mm. Panel Attachment Layout Spacing of rivet fasteners to be spread equally on panel. See below for edge distance and spacing requirements. Ventilaton Cavity The effectiveness of a pressure equalized system depends on a clear minimum air cavity depth as determined by building height. The cavity may not be reduced by horizontal profiles or any stray objects such as loose wind proofing layers, etc... Minimum cavity thickness as per table below: Height of wall system between cavity intake and exhaust Min. uninterrupted ventilated cavity up to 6m (18') 20mm ( 13 16") up to 25m (75') up to 50m (150') 30mm 40mm (1 3 16") (1 9 16") Single span panel. up to 75m (225') 50mm (2") > than 75m (225') 60mm (2 3 8") Ventilation Cavity Intake/Exhaust Air cavity ventilation openings provided at the base and top of the wall area and at any additional interruptions for example window heads and sills. Panel Attachment For fixing onto aluminum subframe, use Fundermax specified aluminum rivets. For fixing onto steel subframe, use Fundermax specified stainless steel rivets. Rivet saucer head is 15mm Ø painted corresponding colour with Max Exterior panel. A EPDM washer gasket is placed under rivet head to provide weather seal. For wood subframe stainless steel screws will be provided. Double span panel. Max Exterior Panel Expansion/Contraction To allow expansion and contraction between the substructure and panels, all holes drilled in Max Exterior are oversized from the rivets body diameter. In order to hold up the panel, 1 rivet per panel is fixed by infilling the oversized hole with an aluminum or stainless steel sleeve. In addition to the fixed point, a loose point is placed in the same level. Position of the fixed and loose points will be determined on shop drawings. Site Fabricating Panels Avoid using tools which produce fine dust. Always work out of the weather. Always drill/cut perpendicularly to the panel surface. Use circular saw with straight edge with dust extraction. For best cut use a Blad hard metal teeth TF or diamond tipped saw blade. Use jig say for hole cut outs in panel. Dust from fabrication must be removed from panel surface immediately following cutting. Site Storage Max Exterior panels must be stacked horizontally on flat, stable supports and supporting panels. The goods must lie completely flat. Cover plates must always be left on the stack. The top cover should be weighted down. After removal of panels, PE films must again be closed over tyhe stack. The same applies, in principle, for cut-panel stacks. Incorrect storage can lead to permanent deformation of the panels. Max Exterior panels are to be stored in closed rooms under normal climatic conditions. Climate differences on the two surfaces of a panel are to be avoided. With pre-installed fastening elements, therefore, care is to be taken that the climatic effect is uniform on all sides. Use intermediate layers of wood or plastic.
