CONNECTION 2015 Speakers biographies (in order of appearance) Host/ Opening Speaker: Mr. George Hongchoy Chief Executive Officer Link Asset Management Limited George Hongchoy joined Link Asset Management Limited as Chief Financial Officer in January 2009, was appointed as an Executive Director in February 2009, and became the Chief Executive Officer in May 2010. He is also director of The Link Holdings Limited, Link Properties Limited, The Link Finance Limited and other subsidiaries of Link REIT. Mr Hongchoy has extensive experience in investment banking, financial consulting and accounting in Asia and New Zealand with focus on real estate, financial services and consumer/retail sectors. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Canterbury and a MBA degree from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. He is a Chartered Accountant, a Senior Fellow of Hong Kong Securities and Investment Institute, and a Fellow member of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants, The Hong Kong Institute of Directors, the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and Institute of Shopping Centre Management and a Professor of Practice (Real Estate) at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Mr Hongchoy is Chairman of the Supervisory Committee of The Tracker Fund of Hong Kong (a Hong Kong unit trust authorised under section 104(1) of the SFO whose units are listed on the Main Board of the Stock Exchange), a member of the Asia Executive Board of The Wharton School and a Council Member of The Hong Kong Institute of Directors. He is a member of the Policy Research Committee of the Financial Services Development Council and a former member of the Advisory Committee on Human Resources Development in Financial Sector of The Government of the HKSAR. He was a director of Hong Kong Cyberport Management Company Limited and Asia Pacific Real Estate Association Limited and Chairman of its Hong Kong Chapter Board, a Council Member of Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Chairman of its Corporate Finance Committee in 2008, and a director of Hong Kong Securities and Investment Institute in 2006-2011.

Cheng, MH, JP is the Managing Director of Dunwell Enviro-Tech (Holdings) Ltd, Chairman of Federation of Hong Kong Industries and Founding President of the Hong Kong Environmental Industries Association. Prof Cheng is currently Council Member of Hong Kong Trade Development Council, Hong Kong Productivity Council and Vocational Training Council, Board member of Business Environment Council and Deputy Chairman of Hong Kong Green Strategy Alliance, Past Chairman of Hong Kong Waste Management Association. Prof Cheng is a Fellow of Hong Kong Institute of Engineers and also Registered Professional Engineer. Industry Speaker: Mr. Will Myles Managing Director, Asia Pacific RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) Will Myles is a member of the Executive Team at RICS, with a background in the construction and property sectors gained in advisory, consulting and contracting roles across EMEA and Asia Pacific. Most recently Managing Director for Bahrain and Kuwait at WS Atkins plc, Will led the business through a period of significant change. Prior to this, Will established a management consulting arm for Atkins in the Middle East and led the international investment appraisal team based out of the UK, where clients included investment banks, developers and government bodies. Will has also held investment appraisal and business development roles covering Asia Pacific. Will holds an MBA from IMD International in Switzerland and an LLB from the University of London, having originally qualified as a Chartered Engineer in Hong Kong where he lived for over 20 years. Will is passionate about the internationalisation of standards in the built environment and the benefits that this will bring all stakeholders in an increasingly globally-connected world.
Speaker: Dr Calvin Lee Kwan, D.Env, MPH General Manager, Sustainability Link Asset Management Limited Dr Kwan is currently the General Manager, Sustainability at Link Asset Management Limited. In this capacity, he spearheads and coordinates the integration of all initiatives, both internally and externally, related to Link s corporate sustainability. This responsibility includes corporate reporting, supply chain management, business operations and advocating corporate sustainability. Dr Kwan has over 10 years of experience in emerging environmental risk management, energy efficiency, sustainability reporting, and developing sustainability culture and awareness through stakeholder engagement. Before coming to Hong Kong, he worked on business energy and environmental risk management at several major companies including Toyota Motors Engineering and Manufacturing, North America and Shell Oil Products, U.S. Dr Kwan is also an adjunct assistant professor at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and a PADI certified open water instructor (#281659). He also serves as an active committee member of several working groups including the United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative Property Working Group, the UN Global Compact RICS Real Estate Sector Steering Committee and the Asia Pacific Real Estate Association Sustainability Committee.
Speaker / Panelist: Mr. Roland Chong VP Supply Chain Operations Starbucks China & Asia Pacific Roland Chong was born in Hong Kong and has over 25 years management working experience in different industries spanning across Hong Kong, mainland China, Singapore, and U.S.A, such as supply chain management, logistics, IT and manufacturing operation etc. Before joining Starbucks, Roland served Yum! Food Services as VP & General Manager and member of Purchasing Board and System Review Board for Yum! Brands Restaurant - China Division. He was the Regional Managing Director for YRC Logistics in Asia, Managing Director for Exel Logistics in China, he was also a senior executive in the companies of Kyocera, AT&T and Crown Pacific. Roland is a member of various professional institutes and associations ncluding the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, UK (FCILT), the Institute of Management Information Systems, UK (FIMIS), China International Forwarder Association (CIFA), and the China Customs Broker Association (CCBA). He is also a consultant and advisor to government bodies in Tianjin and Shanghai and a frequent guest lecturer to world renowned universities and forums. Roland holds an MBA and a graduate diploma in Total Quality Management.
Panelist: Dr. Jianzhong Lu Partner, Shanghai Brunswick Group Dr. Jianzhong Lu joined Brunswick from RGE, an international resource development company, where he was Group Executive Vice President (China) as well as Chairman of the Board of its downstream pulp and paper subsidiary, Asia Symbol (Shandong) Ltd. Prior to RGE, he was Acting President of BHP Billiton (China) and before that BHP Vice President of Corporate Affairs in charge of corporate affairs strategy, business development and sustainable business leadership in China. He was also responsible for BHP s Mainland China uranium business. Previously, he served as a project consultant to the United Nations and UNCTAD trade efficiency program. Dr. Lu is founder of the CSR Thought Laboratory in Shanghai, which is a volunteer based collaborative forum for CSR managers of Fortune 500 companies dedicated to leading CSR and Sustainable Business practices. Dr. Lu is also a guest professor at Tianjing Nan Kai University and has served multiple noteworthy institutions in roles focused on sustainability issues. Dr. Lu received a Ph.D. in E-commerce from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, Australia. He also holds a master s of management and technology innovation from ECP, Paris, and a bachelor s degree in Chemical Engineering from Zhejiang University, China.
Panelist: Katherine Lau General Manager, Corporate Quality & Sustainability Fuji Xerox (Hong Kong) Limited Ms. Katherine Lau is the General Manager, Corporate Quality & Sustainability of Fuji Xerox (Hong Kong) Limited. Overseeing the operations Lau dedicates to deploy Total Quality Management through Japan Quality Award framework and Sustainability through the realization of its company vision to be a "Good Company. Lau holds a Master degree in Quality Management, a Bachelor degree in Business Communication, an advanced IEMA approved Environmental Management System auditor and a certified Six Sigma Black Belt. She is one of the Board of Examiners of the Hong Kong Management Association Quality Award since 2007, a member of the advisory group for ESG, Waste Management and Energy of Business Environmental Council in 2013-2015 and a Corporate Engagement and Alliance Committee Member of the World Green Organisation. She had more than 15 years' experience in the quality and sustainability field. With her leadership, Fuji Xerox (Hong Kong) has successfully developed a quality and sustainability oriented culture and won over 100 prestigious quality and sustainability awards.
Panelist: Yui Ku Director of Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability Shangri-La International Hotel Management Limited Prior to joining Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts in June 2015, Ms. Ku played a key role in the sustainability and climate change team at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Hong Kong. In her current position, she is responsible for developing and executing the group s corporate social responsibility strategy for over 90 hotels around the world. She is responsible for the strategic development and implementation of Sustainability, Shangri-La s social responsibility programme that brings the group to the forefront as a responsible tourism operator. She also helms Embrace, Shangri-La s Care for People programme, which focuses on education and health initiatives for children, along with Sanctuary, Shangri-La s Care for Nature programme which emphasises biodiversity conservation and habitat protection. These initiatives have together enabled the Shangri-La group to be the only Asia Pacific hotel group to be listed on the prestigious Dow Jones Sustainability Index for three consecutive years. Ms. Ku is a corporate sustainability specialist and has served as advisor for different listed corporations and public utility companies in Hong Kong. She holds a masters degree in environmental technology from Imperial College London.
Speaker: Mr. Wai-kwok Wong, MBA, MSc, BEng (Hons.) Manager, Carbon and Energy Hong Kong Quality Assurance Agency WK started his career in the area of manufacturing management. He was responsible for product and system quality assurance and environmental management system including new product quality evaluation, regular quality assurance management, supply and subcontractor management, setup and implementation of quality management and environmental management system. Before joining HKQAA, he was deployed as a field delegate to assess the flexibility analysis of Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) project, delivering public seminars and trainings in regards to various carbon and energy management. WK joined Hong Kong Quality Assurance Agency (HKQAA) since 2011. His current position is Manager, Carbon and Energy, of the Strategic Business Branch, who primarily in-charge of Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) related services. WK is also responsible for conducting various verification tasks such as GHG verification, CSR report verification etc. WK has extensive experience in implementing GHG, energy and environmental management systems and reporting processes, including the design and quantification of GHG reports. In 2008, he obtained a Master of Business Administration at City University of Hong Kong. Also, he holds a Master of Science in Environmental Management at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2004 and Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Manufacturing Engineering at City University of Hong Kong at 2001.
