Registration Information 1. Tables are 6 feet long and are $35 each. Tables will be reserved on a first come, first serve basis. 2. If sharing a table with someone else, please list other participant(s) on the registration form. 3. Power carving and wood burning are NOT allowed at your table during the show. 4. Exhibitors are required to have their tables covered and skirted on three sides. CVWC will NOT be providing table skirts. Table coverings and skirting may be of any color or fabric (plastic, cloth, etc.) 5. Exhibitors from out of town arriving on Friday may set up their tables on Friday afternoon between 1:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Local volunteers helping with setup on Friday morning will also be allowed to set up their tables. 6. REGISTER EARLY! All registrations should be in by February 1, 2018 so the show committee can complete the showroom layout. Direction to Kirkwood Community College, Linn County Regional Center. Take 380 to Boyson Road Go West on Boyson Rd to Martha s Way. (The Regional Center building is on the north side of Boyson Road.) Turn North on Martha s Way and go behind the building to the parking lot. Enter the Regional Center from the back side of the building and walk down the corridor to the Conference room near the front of the building.

RULES for SHOW and COMPETITION 1. Entries must be in the judging room by 9:00 a.m. Saturday. 2. Competition is open to all registered exhibitors and youth participants. There is no fee for entering carvings. 3. Carvings entered in competition must be the work of the exhibitor and have been completed within three years prior to the show. 4. Instructor Assisted category any carving completed in a class, or with the assistance of an instructor, must be entered in the Instructor Assisted Category. These carvings are eligible for Best of Show-Instructor Assisted Award. Previous Best in Show Instructor Assisted category must enter their carvings in the Masters category. 5. Carvings that have won a blue ribbon at a previous CVWC show will not be allowed in competition, but may be displayed on an exhibitor s table. No craft items or ribbons from previous shows may be displayed. 6. Exhibitors may enter no more than two carvings per category, but may enter as many categories as they choose. A single carving may not be entered in more than one category. Judges reserve the right move a carving to a different category if deemed appropriate. 7. The show chairperson and/or judges may disqualify a carving from competition and display in order to maintain a family oriented standard for the show. 8. Only judges and workers assigned to assist the judges will be allowed in the judging area during the judging process. All decisions of the judges are final. 9. Judges may award 1 st, 2 nd and 3 rd in each category and honorable mention as they deem appropriate 10. Show judges will choose Best of Show, and 1st and 2nd runners up to Best of Show from all blue ribbon winners (except the Instructor Assisted categories). 11. Show judges will choose the Best Instructor Assisted Award from all the blue ribbon carvings entered in Instructor Assisted categories. 12. Exhibitors agree to display for the entire show. Exhibits may not be taken down until the show closes at 4 p.m. Sunday. 13. Iowa Sales Tax must be collected on all sales from the show. It is the responsibility of each participant to collect, report, and pay Iowa sales tax (7%). 14. The Cedar Valley Woodcarvers Club and Kirkwood Community College will not accept responsibility for lost, stolen or damaged items.

Realistic combination of mixed subjects - human, animal, bird, etc. 11. Caricature human, single or group 12. Caricature - animal, bird, fish, single or group 13. Caricature mixed subjects, human, birds, fish, etc. 14. Santa s. 15. Holiday Single or group, all holidays (Christmas, Halloween, etc.) 16. Mythical includes Kachina dolls, dragons, etc. 17. Religious theme single or group in the round 18. Miniature any subject (must fit in 4 inch cube including base) 19. Floral single or group in the round 20. Ornamental Jewelry, feathers 21. Functional and decorative (includes frames, furniture, musical instruments, decorative elements, moldings, geometric designs, signs, plaques, emblems, etc.) 22. Relief carving, deep or shallow - includes intaglio 23. Chip carving any subject 24. Stylized carving any subject 25. Bark carvings any subject 26. All other Found Wood that has been carved. 27. Canes and staffs 28. Intarsia 29. Pyrography (Wood Burning) 30. Mediums other than wood - (Antlers, bone, stone, gourds, etc.) 31.
