A strong, influential, independent voice for the UK s library and information profession

We will secure recognition of and support for the library, information & knowledge management workforce sector in public policy

We will raise public awareness of and support for the value of libraries and information for communities, businesses and the economy

We will put diversity and equality at the heart of everything we do

We will build a thriving workforce for the future, attracting talent, and encouraging the creation of high-quality jobs

We will ensure that all decisions on professional policy and practice are evidence-based

CILIP s goal for 2020 is to put library and information skills at the heart of a democratic, equal and prosperous society

#AMillionDecisions

Concept: Every day across the healthcare sector more than a million decisions are made which have a profound and lasting impact on the lives of patients, their carers and families, businesses and communities. Information professionals in the healthcare sector ensure that these decisions are made based on the best available evidence.

Concept: The Health and Social Care Act 2012 establishes a duty on behalf of the Secretary of State for Health to ensure the use in the health sector of evidence obtained from research. It also places a responsibility on Clinical Commissioning Groups and healthcare providers to make use of the best available evidence in their decision-making.

#FactsMatter

The General Election 2017 is an opportunity to start a fresh conversation with National and Local Government about the full range and diversity of impact which our profession delivers not defensively, but positively and proactively

Librarians & information professionals have the skills and values to #ChangeBritainsFuture, creating a #strongandstable economy and a society that works #forthemanynotthefew * (*While #DefendingWales)
