Purchase the pattern, Grandmother s Sampler by Lori Smith and gets your first block free. Come on subsequent months with your block done and get your second block fabric free. Each month it will work this way. If you don t get your block done you will have to pay $5.00 for your new block. We have the Friday and Saturday dates on different weeks to accommodate those having to be out of town on the first week-end. We will be using dark colors like Moda Kansas Troubles. We will be finishing Grandmother s Sampler by Lori Smith soon. Watch for the new Friday Saturday Sampler around December or January. New BOM First Ladies Civil War Quilt Friday Date: September 6 th Saturday Date: September 14 th Time: 11 a.m. 12 a.m. Cost $25.00 per month We are so excited to announce our newest block of the month with Windham Fabrics! First Ladies is a twelve month program that begins in September and honors the wives of the presidents of the United States, some well-known and some more obscure. The finished quilt measures 102 x 102. At the end of the twelve month program, you will have received all of the block patterns and fabric that you will need for your quilt top and binding. We will be doing a sampler from Alex Anderson s Start Quilting Book. You will learn to read a quilting pattern and how to measure correctly and piece that perfect ¼ seam. Thimbleberries Club Same dates as the Saturday Sampler Dates: July 13 th, August 10 th, and September 14 th Time: 11 to 3 July and August, then 12-3 in September Cost: $15.00 per three months plus the quilt kit and the $29.95 book which is good for the year. Thimbleberries Club is back with fun quarterly quilts. Join us for all 4 quilts or for 1, 2, or 3 sessions. These quilts are fun and easy. We will be doing Quilt #3, Chocolate Rose Garden. This quilt is 70 by 86 when finished. Try some new ways to piece your quilt including some appliqué. Fun new fabrics are used to make these quilts. Join us for this great daytime class. Babylock Club Date: July 31 st, August 28 th, and September 11 th Time: 10 to 1 Cost: Workbook and supplies Instruction is free if purchased machine at Karen s or $100.00 per class. Join us for this fantastic software class and learn all the features of your new Babylock software. Some of the special techniques include sizing, fonts, density map and the sweep, circle and spiral text, merging, basting, thread editor, compatible formats, design converter and text enveloping. Software is compatible with Bernina machines. Open Sewing, Quilting, and Embroidery Dates: July 9 th, August 13 th, and September 10 th Time: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Cost: Free No instructor in classroom, assistance when time permits and from each other Come join us for a day of fun doing open sewing, quilting, or embroidery. Learn to do more with your Serger. We will be using the Inspiration Serger Sewing Guide Book for fast, easy, and fun projects using scraps you have at home. Thangles Block Cards Dates: July 10 th, August 14 th, and September 11 th Time: Evening class 5 to 7 Cost: $5.00 per month We will soon be ending this year of thangles classes. Each month we have assembled a block to create this Half Starful Quilt using thangles. The blocks care 12 finished and the quilt is 72 by 88 when completed. If you want it larger, purchase 2 blocks a month. Your fabric choices are blue, green and brown or dark colors like Moda s Kansas Troubles. Don t want to come to class, you may purchase and pick up the block kits. Watch for the new Thangles Block Quilt beginning in the next calendar quarter starting with October.
Feels Like Spring Embroidery and Appliquéd Quilt Dates: July 11 th, July 27 th, August 8 th, August 24 th, and September 12 th and 28 th Time: AM Cost: $15.00, Feels Like Spring CD Program, and block kits or fabric supplies. We will continue this embroidery block of the month using your embroidery machine and Smith Streets new embroidery CD. Feels Like Spring is an appliquéd group of patterns for embroidery machines. Daffodils, Tulips, Lilies of the Valley, Pansies, Roses, Vinca Vines, Clematis, and Passion Flowers are presented in a variety of combinations with different ways to repeat and make larger designs for a total of 21 blocks. Complete instructions for a variety of layouts include a bed size quilt, a lap quilt, and a bed runner. Patchabilities of the Month Date: July 31 st, August 28 th, and September 25 th Time: 12 to 2 or 5 to 7 Cost: $15.00 kit includes the pattern and fabric. Button kits and hangers are extra. Join us for the patchabilities class or stop in and pick up your kit each month. If you don t live here and would like to do this each month, we can ship it to you. These are great little appliqué projects that are great wall hangings for that small area needing some color and cheer. Bonnie s Mystery Quilt Date: August 15 th OR August 16 th Time: 9:30 to 4:00??? Cost: $30.00 plus you provide or purchase your fabric It s a mystery again. Choose to participate in one of these wonderful opportunities to make a mystery quilt with Bonnie.
