Technology and Market Intelligence Introduction into Training Fraunhofer IAO, IAT University of Stuttgart Slide 1

Background TMR is a component of the SIRIM-Fraunhofer programs. TMR strives to support SMEs in improving their competitiveness and innovativeness. IC-Innovation can use the TMR for understanding future research areas and align their strategies towards the Malaysian SMEs business. Lack of data on market and technology trends has been identified as one of the weaknesses affecting SMEs business growth during SIRIM Technology Audit in 2015 and 2016. To address this weakness, SIRIM and Fraunhofer IAO are collaborating to establish Technology and Market Radar (TMR) suitable for Malaysian SMEs. The main objective of TMR is to provide business tools to assist SMEs to identify relevant technology and market trends, which is an important prerequisite for making strategic decisions on technology investment. TMR is designed for SMEs, ministries and government agencies to retrieve relevant and strategic information on technology and market trends. Fraunhofer IAO, IAT University of Stuttgart Slide 2

Technology and Market Intelligence System Collection of trends Assessment and display of relevant trends in consolidated overview and detailed profiles Identification of opportunities and challenges for SMEs Fraunhofer IAO, IAT University of Stuttgart Slide 3
