It will meet nce per term and will invite a representative f the fllwing grups: SLT, gvernrs, teaching staff, admin staff, parents, pupils. Internet use and Acceptable Use Plicies (AUP s) All members f the schl cmmunity will sign an Acceptable Use Plicy that is apprpriate t their age and rle. Examples f the AUPS used can be fund in appendix 1. A cpy f the pupil AUP will be sent t parents with a cvering letter/reply slip. This can be fund in appendix 2 AUP s will be reviewed annually. All AUP s will be stred centrally in case f breaches f the e-safety plicy. The AUP will frm part f the first lessn f ICT fr each year grup. 3 P a g e

The Prevent Duty The prevent duty is the duty in the Cunter-Terrrism and Security Act 2015 n specified authrities (Schls) in the exercise f their functins, t have due regard t the need t prevent peple frm being drawn int terrrism. The general risks affecting children and yung peple may vary frm area t area, and accrding t their age. Schls and childcare prviders are in an imprtant psitin t identify risks within a given lcal cntext. Schls and childcare prviders shuld be aware f the increased risk f nline radicalisatin, as rganisatins seek t radicalise yung peple thrugh the use f scial media and the internet. The statutry guidance makes clear the need fr schls t ensure that children are safe frm terrrist and extremist material when accessing the internet in schls. Schls shuld ensure that suitable filtering is in place. Mre generally, schls have an imprtant rle in equipping children and yung peple t stay safe nline, bth in schl and utside. Internet safety will usually be integral t a schl s ICT curriculum and can als be embedded in PSHE and SRE. General advice and resurces fr schls n internet safety are available n the UK Safer Internet Centre website. As with ther nline risks f harm, all staff need t be aware f the risks psed by the nline activity f extremist and terrrist grups. The prevent duty means that all staff have a duty t be vigilant and where necessary reprt cncerns ver use f the internet that includes, fr example, the fllwing: Internet searches fr terms related t extremism Visits t extremist websites Use f scial media t read r pst extremist material Grming f individuals The Prevent duty requires a schls mnitring and filtering systems t be fit fr purpse. 4 P a g e Phtgraphs and Vide The use f phtgraphs and vides is ppular in teaching and learning and shuld be encuraged. Hwever, it is imprtant that cnsent frm parents is gained if vides r phts f pupils are ging t be used. If phts/vides are t be used nline then names f pupils shuld nt be linked t pupils. Staff must be fully aware f the cnsent frm respnses frm parents when cnsidering use f images. The Cnsent frm used is in appendix 4. Staff shuld always use a schl camera t capture images and shuld nt use their persnal devices. Phts taken by the schl are subject t the Data Prtectin act.

Phts and vides taken by parents/carers. Parents and carers are permitted t take phts/vides f their wn children in schl events. They are requested nt t share phts/vides frm schl events n scial netwrking sites if ther pupils appear in the backgrund. The parental letter cncerning AUP s includes a paragraph cncerning psting phts n scial netwrking sites (see appendix 2) Phts fr persnal use such as thse taken by parents/carers are nt subject t the Data Prtectin Act. Use f e-mails Pupils and staff shuld nly use e-mail addresses that have been issued by the schl and the e-mail system shuld nly be used fr schl related matters. Pupils and staff are advised t maintain an alternative persnal e-mail address fr use at hme in nnschl related matters. Reprting All breaches f the e-safety plicy need t be recrded in the ICT reprting bk that is kept in the general ffice. The details f the user, date and incident shuld be reprted. Incidents which may lead t child prtectin issues need t be passed n t the designated teacher immediately it is their respnsibility t decide n apprpriate actin nt the class teachers. Incidents which are nt child prtectin issues but may require SLT interventin (eg cyberbullying) shuld be reprted t SLT in the same day. Allegatins invlving staff shuld be reprted t the Headteacher. If the allegatin is ne f abuse then it shuld be handled accrding t the DFE dcument titled Dealing with allegatins f abuse against teachers and ther staff. If necessary the lcal authrity s LADO shuld be infrmed. Evidence f incidents must be preserved and retained.
