The technique can be used to: Quickly and inexpensively fill a large area. Reduce production time and cost. Produce a uniform appearance Adhere to the colors or fonts of a brand or institution Add creativity, texture and interest Incorporate a design element that could not be created with embroidery. And, can be used on all types of apparel, caps, hats and totes. www.issshows.com/ slide 12 4

Three-dimensional rhinestone bling catches the light from many directions for maximum sparkle. Hotfix and transfer rhinestones are a great add-on to embroidery or screen print programs and continue to rise in popularity. Embroiderers can add a rhinestone accent to their elegant stitch work. Screen printers can easily customize T or Sweatshirt with rhinestone text. The advantage of rhinestone decoration is that it is well-known to consumers and the cost of entry is relatively low compared to sequin technology or the new spangle transfer systems. www.issshows.com/ slide 15 5
Rhinestones Although bling can be a show stopper, mixing in a bit of embroidery can yield an upscale garment with a low production cost. The three options for rhinestones are to hand glue each piece, buy a transfer which can simply be heat pressed to the shirt or make custom design using an automatic transfer system. An ordinary embroidered shirt or cap with a selling price of $20 can suddenly jump by $10 or more with the addition of even a few of the sparkling beads of light, even though the stones themselves have an almost insignificant cost factor. www.issshows.com/ slide 16 Heat-transfer vinyl (HTV) An ideal complement to rhinestones since both require the same tools a cutter, heat press and design software. Repurpose your vinyl designs or create new ones with rhinestone fills, borders and embellishments. Monograms comprised of HTV and rhinestones are a great example of creative artwork using design software and represent a growing trend in the industry. www.issshows.com/ slide 17 Glitter Vinyl Glamorizes your products and makes them stand out while optimizing your profit and increasing sales. Glitter describes an assortment of very small, flat, and reflective particles. When these particles are applied to surfaces, each reflects light at different angles causing the surface to sparkle or glitter. Glitter is similar to, but smaller than sequins. www.issshows.com/ slide 18 6

Foil Transfers Heat transfer foils are heat transferable materials that are trending in the garment decoration industry. Perfect for adding a true metallic element to designs. Sometimes known as heat transfer foils, you may know these as screen print foils or hot stamp foils. Heat transfer foils are not cut in a vinyl cutter/plotter and do not need to be weeded and do not include an adhesive. In this case, a separate adhesive material must be first applied to further apply heat transfer foils. www.issshows.com/ slide 22 Sequins & Spangles www.issshows.com/ slide 23 Sequins and Spangles What is the difference? Sequins are small, colorful plastic discs with holes in the middle. The discs are attached by thread using an embroidery machine. Spangles are Hotfix sequins, without the hole in the middle. They are applied to transfer tape or transfer paper and then applied to a garment. They are about 1/7th the cost of rhinestone transfers. Spangles and sequins do not contain lead, and are both incredibly lightweight and soft to the touch. www.issshows.com/ slide 24 8
