Speakers Biographies Antonello Ciotti is a graduated Engineer from the University of Florence with a MBA degree from the Bocconi University in Milano acting as Equipolymers Global Commercial Director since 2004 when the company was founded. Equipolymers is a JV between The Dow Chemical Company and PIC from Kuwait Petroleum Corporation. Before serving the Dow Plastics organisation in several locations and positions all over Europe, he was working for Mobil Oil in the Strategic Planning Department. On top of the above position, Antonello is acting as Chairman in Corepla, the Italian Consortium for recycling packaging plastic, and as Vice Chairman of CPME, the European association of PET manufacturers. Nicolas Rivollet is the Head of Corporate Business Development at Husky Injection Molding Systems. With a professional background in engineering and business management, Nicolas has spent 20 years driving and supporting profitable growth for OEM leaders in the PET industry. Having worked throughout Europe, Asia and North America, Nicolas has held several roles in product innovation for machines and packages, as well as strategy and business development. He holds degrees in engineering and science from INSA Lyon, a management degree from IAE Lyon and an executive education certificate from Wharton University of Pennsylvania. Nicolas is also the Husky representative for NAPCOR and APR. Carsten Lauridsen graduated 1992 from the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) as mechanical engineer with product development, physics and polymer processing as key areas. For the following 5 years Carsten worked at DTU first as Ph.d.-student and after the degree as Associated Professor funded by the Danish Research Council. Between 1998 and 2002 Carsten held different positions at Bang & Olufsen Technology (now Medicom Innovation Partner) ending as Research Manager with focus on early development of inhaler devices for respiratory therapies. Since then he has held project manager positions first at Færch Plast, later at Bang & Olufsen Medicom, and since 2011 at Færch Plast.

Speakers Biographies Françoise Poulat has graduated in chemistry and spent all her career in Danone. After some experience in analytical laboratory, she had been in charge of developing materials for water bottles and closures including PET, recycled PET and bio based materials. Since September 2017, she is in charge of the Sustainable Material Team in Danone Plastic Material Techno Center, a R&D team fully dedicated to plastics in Danone. Gian de Belder graduated as MSc - European Postgraduate Education in Polymer and Composites Engineering from the Leuven University (Belgium). He started working for Procter & Gamble in 2000. His work experiences include R&D Packaging (upstream technologies), ISBM packaging projects, Sustainable resins, Technology scouting (Connect & Develop) and Design for Recycling. In his current position he is Principle Scientist R&D Sustainable Packaging P&G at the P&G Innovation Centre and is also the Project Manager Life+ PetCycle. Coming with a mechanical engineering degree by RWTH Aachen, Johannes Burghaus has now more than 20 years of experience in packaging development at P&G, with special focus on aerosol packages. He is working as a Section Head in Fabric & Home Care on the European Aerosol Business and European Association Work. Johannes represents P&G in the European Aerosol Association (FEA) as Vice-Chairman of FEA Flammability / ADD Working Group, as a member of the Expert Team and in some task forces.

Speakers Biographies Eric Liégeois joined the European Commission at DG Environment as national expert in 2002 where he was in charge of the Thematic Strategy on the Sustainable Use of Pesticides. In 2005, he took the position of Director at the Belgian Ministry of Public Health and the Environment, where his team was in charge of implementing REACH, CLP and Biocides. In June 2007, he decided to join again the EC as a permanent administrator official in the Chemicals Unit at DG ENTR. In his current position, he is in charge of the preparatory work for the forthcoming revised Fertilisers Regulation and is leading a team in charge of Fertilisers, Detergents, Plant Protection Products, Biocides, Waste recycling and Plastics, and is part of DG GROW team for the cirular economy package. Stephane Arditi works as Product and Waste Policy Manager within the European Environmental Bureau (EEB), a federation of more than 150 ENGO s across Europe. Before joining EEB, Stephane worked as a Quality/Lean consultant for the industry in France and UK. He also collaborated to academic research programmes on energy efficiency in building and evaluation of sustainable development policy in France. In his daily work, Stephane tries to promote circular economy business models, policy instruments and innovative practices aiming at resources and energy conservation and prevention of waste. Sander Defruyt is a research analyst at the Ellen MacArthur Foundation s New Plastics Economy Initiative. The New Plastics Economy initiative is an ambitious, threeyear initiative to build momentum towards a plastics system that works. Applying the principles of the circular economy, the initiative brings together key stakeholders to re-think and re-design the future of plastics, starting with packaging. Sander was part of the core team publishing the report The New Plastics Economy - Rethinking the future of plastics (Jan 2016) and the recently published follow-up The New Plastics Economy - Catalysing action (Jan 2017). In his presentation, he will share the main insights from these reports.

Speakers Biographies With more than 10 years experience in the field of plastic recycling, An Vossen has worked with a variety of national and international sorting centres, recycling companies and recycling organisations, contributing to an efficient implementation of the recycling activities in Belgium. Her career has led her to specialise more and more in packaging design for recycling and new recycling technologies such as bottle-tobottle recycling. She is currently the Executive Manager PLAREBEL and Head of Working Group on Bottle Recycling EPRO. Casper van den Dungen is more than 20 years active in PET recycling. He started as mechanical engineer with a specialization in plastic processing. He gained experience in Explorative Reseach and Development as well as heading a plastic processing using recycled materials. He started PET bottle recycling in 1989 at Re>tech in the Netherlands and specialised further in PET recycling by moving to Poly Recycling in 1996 as Business Unit Manager. He had taken the responsability of ITW Poly Recycling in 2000 as General Manager and became Managing Director in 2004. As active member, he holds different positions within PRE, the European Plastics Recyclers Association, within EPBP, the European PET Bottle Platform, as well as Petcore Europe where he currently serves as Vice President.
