Travel & tourism in HORIZON 2020 There's NO specific call addressed to the tourism industries in HORIZON 2020. BUT - HORIZON 2020 is closer to market than FP7 (i.e.: it's more open to projects/initiatives at the i end of R&D&i innovation). - HORIZON 2020 is not only science; its three main priorities are: Excellent science, Industrial leadership, Societal challenges. - So: although the tourism industries are not a topic by itself, it can be tackled through many other fields mainly but not only.
Three priorities 32% Excellent science + EIT, JRC, Widening, SwfS 8% 22% Industrial leadership Societal challenges 38%
Coverage of the full innovation chain Excellent science Societal challenges Industrial leadership Basic Research Demonstration Technology R&D Prototyping Large scale validation Pilots Market uptake Where in the chain is your project?

Other topics: Societal Challenges and Excellence in the Science WP 2014-15 (1/2) Important contributions are expected in six out of the seven societal challenges in Horizon 2020: SC1: Health, demographic change and wellbeing, SC3: Secure, clean and efficient energy, SC4: Smart, green and integrated transport, SC5: Climate action, environment, resource efficiency and raw materials, SC6: Europe in a changing world Innovative, inclusive and reflective societies, SC7: Secure societies Protecting freedom and security of Europe and its citizens. For our purposes, Excellent science is probably too pure research based to find an area for travel & tourism related projects.
EUREKATourism+ strategy in H2020 (a [P] roposal!) P1. To establish a permanent, real-time, alert service of calls. P2. To proceed with a matchmaking of call per technology field. P3. To inform participants about the details of H2020 calls. P4. To foster a strong presence of the tourism industries in H2020 via the presentation of as many projects as possible.
