Ivy Chen MAusIMM, GAICD, BAppSc, PGDip(NatRes) Years of membership: 17 Mining and Resource Perth, WA I am a mining and resource geologist, who became a regulator with ASIC for 6 years, to fix a public reporting system I thought could work better. This has been my approach for the 30 years that I have been in our industry: I try to make it better, rather than sit on the side and hope someone else will act. I have been on the Perth Branch committee for 10 years, and Chair in 2014 and 2015. I have completed the AICD Directors course, and am a director in the not-for-profit sector. I helped draft the 2012 JORC and 2015 VALMIN Codes, reinforcing AusIMM s role as a driving force behind integrity in reporting and governance. As a Director, I would augment AusIMM s capacity to represent mining professionals and our interests in proactive approaches within our industry, the greater community, and government in terms of capacity to influence policy development.
