Naturally Beautiful Doors 100% FSC Pure Timber Introduction John Mumford and Chris Wood are proud to present Iconic Internal Doors. This is a unique offer, combining the concept of an Intelligent Doorset with a 100% FSC Pure material. These two important factors enable the creation of naturally beautiful doors. The Intelligent Doorset enables easy on site installation with a completely engineered product, this provides an insitu process and finish not previously available to the general market. John and Chris have a combined experience of over fifty years between them in the design and manufacture of premium quality timber products. Both are ex-managing directors of the previously family owned premium timber window brand. John Mumford is well known in the wood product industry for innovative design while Chris has worked with designers and architects worldwide to deliver their clients aspirations. Green Mission statement 100% FSC Pure Certification Traditionally internal doors use a variety of hardwoods from various sources that in most cases cannot be certified. Our policy from the outset was to provide a 100% FSC Pure product and this is achieved through using engineered Taeda wood, which is a widely cultivated and dense timber found throughout the Americas. With this outstanding raw material and the unique Iconic finishing process we are able to achieve almost any finish from Oak to dark Wenge without the use of precious hardwoods. The Iconic brand therefore offers the developer and interior designer a bold design statement combined with a luxurious finish without the need to use slow growing and increasingly rare hardwood species. 14 product information Timber 100% FSC Pure Iconic specialise in the use of carefully selected Taeda timber which achieves the highest quality end product and enables the provision of 100% FSC Pure material. FSC 100% does not allow the inclusion of material from any non-certified sources, whereas for example FSC Mixed does, it is therefore FSC in its purest form. The FSC logo relates to the products in the brochure. Engineered Components All Iconic frame and door components are glue laminated to provide superior strength, stability and a knot free surface. Iconic only use exterior quality glues, even though the product is used internally, thus ensuring maximum performance. The surface panel, 1.5mm rather than the 0.6mm industry standard, is saw cut from the log rather than the conventionally sliced method. Sliced veneer contains too much tension, which does not allow the smooth finishing and rich grain found in Iconic doors. Many internal door suppliers use the mass produced rotary sliced veneers, which produce a less pleasing and somewhat unnatural appearance. When Iconic door panels are fitted a concealed flexible filler is introduced, this reduces panel vibrations yet allows for the necessary movement that occur in everyday use. Superb Finish After very fine and repeated furniture standard sanding the Iconic products are sprayed and hand finished with a superior polyurethane varnish or paint in a range of translucent and solid colours. Polyurethane dries much harder and is far more scratch resistant than normal lacquers and for this reason is often used where durability is an issue. The resultant finish delivers superb performance and a stunning finish. Intelligent Doorset Any door product is only as good as the final installation and Iconic doors are designed to produce consistent quality on site. All frame and architrave joints are accurately prepared at the factory enabling straightforward assembly with no chopping out required by site labour for hinges, lock sets, handles or the fixing of architraves. Architraves are of a laminated construction for stability and with a unique tongue that locates into a frame rebate to enable pin free fixing to the wall, whilst allowing lateral adjustment to suit the wall thickness.
15 Door Information Intelligent Doorset Architrave Joints Classic style architraves have CNC precision cut 45 degree corners and are recessed on the backs for site insertion of a butterfly clip, this gives an accurate and tight joint. Contemporary architraves are factory scribed and moulded for a modern 90 degree joint. As shown in this image. Hardware cut outs Precision cut out outs are accurately machined at the factory, for consistent and simple positioning of the hardware by the customer. Beautiful wood grain The selected natural Taeda wood features unique grain patterns that can be laid in vertical and horizontal designs according to the door style. This provides Iconic doors with an individual and distinctive effect when combined with translucent finishes. Soft closing The door frame is factory fitted with a soft performance seal that dramatically reduces closing noise while increasing sound and draft insulation from adjoining rooms. Seals also provide a position for concealed frame fixing as shown here.
