SECTION 1 Christmas Wreath Bookmark Materials: Dark green size 10 crochet thread Crochet hook size 6 Five 5/8 lucite rings About 40 of 1/8 red ribbon Yarn needle First wreath Round 1: Work 24 sc around lucite ring; join with a sl st to the first sc. Round 2: Ch 4 to count as the first dc and the first ch 1; (dc in the next sc, ch 1) 23 times; join with a sl st to the 3rd ch of beginning ch 3. Round 3: Sl st into the first ch 1 sp, ch 1, sc in the same sp; (ch 3, sc in the next ch 1 sp) 23 times, ch 3, join with a sl st to the first sc. Fasten off. Weave in ends. lows: ch 2, remove hook from loop and insert from the top of any ch 3 sp of first wreath, pick up the dropped loop of second wreath and pull through ch 3 sp of first wreath, ch 1, sc in the next ch 1 sp of the second wreath; *ch 2, remove hook from loop and insert from the top of the next ch 3 sp of first wreath, pick up the dropped loop of second wreath and pull through ch 3 sp of first wreath, ch 1, sc in the next ch 1 sp of the second wreath* Repeat from * to * 2 times; (ch 3, sc in the next ch 1 sp) 11 times, ch 3, join with a sl st to the first sc. Fasten off. Weave in ends. Remaining wreaths (using remaining rings) Work rounds 1 and 2 as for first wreath. Round 3: Sl st into the first ch 1 sp, ch 1, sc in the same sp; (ch 3, sc in the next ch 1 sp) 8 times; join to last wreath as follows: ch 2, remove hook from loop, skip 8 unworked ch 3 spaces on the right side of the last wreath, insert from the top in the next ch 3 sp of last wreath, pick up the dropped loop of second wreath and pull through ch 3 sp of last wreath, ch 1, sc in the next ch 1 sp of the new wreath; *ch 2, remove hook from loop and insert from the top of the next ch 3 sp of last wreath, pick up the dropped loop of new wreath and pull through ch 3 sp of last wreath, ch 1, sc in the next ch 1 sp of the new wreath* Repeat from * to * 2 times; (ch 3, sc in the next ch 1 sp) 7 times, ch 3, join with a sl st to the first sc. Fasten off. Weave in ends. Finishing Cut ribbon into five 8 pieces. Thread needle with a piece of ribbon. Scarf With color B, ch 20, sc in the first unworked loop on round 15 of the head and in each of the remaining 17 unworked loops on round 15, ch 21; turn. Row 1: Sc in the 2nd ch from hook and in each of the next 19 ch s, 2 sc in each of the next 18 sc s, sc in each of the next 20 ch s; ch 1, turn. (76 sc) Rows 2-3: Sc in each sc across; ch 1, turn. (76 sc) Row 4: Sc in each of the first 20 sc, skip next 36 sc, overlap scarf so that it crosses itself, sc in each of the last 20 sc. Fasten off. Weave in ends. Hat (make 2 of these pieces) With color B, ch 2. Row 1: Sc in the 2nd ch from hook; ch 1, turn. (1 sc) Row 2: 2 sc in the sc; ch 1, turn. (2 sc) Row 3: 2 sc in each sc; ch 1, turn. (4 sc) 6
Row 4: Sc in each sc across; ch 1, turn. (4 sc) Row 5: 2 sc in the first sc, sc in each sc across to within the last sc, 2 sc in the last sc, ch 1, turn. (6 sc) Rows 6-19: (Repeat rows 4-5) 7 times. (20 sc at the end of row 19) Row 20: Repeat row 4. (20 sc) Row 21: Working in the back loop only, sc in each sc across; ch 1, turn. (20 sc) Row 22: Sc in each sc across. (20 sc) Fasten off. Finishing Body (jar cover) Attach color A with a sc to any sc on row 23 of the body piece, sc in each of the next 9 sc, attach first arm by working sc s through each of the 6 sc s on the arm AND though the next 6 st s on the body, sc in each of the next 16 sc on row 23 of the body piece, attach second arm as the first through the next 6 st s on the body, sc in the last 10 sc on row 23 of the body piece. Fasten off. Weave in ends. Insert mason jar in body piece, arrange and sew on buttons. Tack hands to the body with color A. Add a teaspoon shovel through one arm. (This is also the scoop for the hot chocolate mix.) Head (lid) Being careful not to get any glue in the threads of the lid ring, generously glue the lid ring to the inside of the scarf, under the head. Glue the metal lid disc inside the lid ring and to the bottom of the head. Assemble the hat by sc together along the sides of the rows, leaving the cuff on the outside. Sl st around the bottom of the hat, in each of the unworked loops on row 21. Arrange the hat on the head, then sew to the head under the cuff with color B yarn and yarn needle. Add the face of your choice (it s GOTTA be better than mine! LOL) Fill jar with cocoa mix. Screw on lid. Happy Crocheting! 7
CHRISTMAS MISC. SECTION 3 Wreath Doorknob Decoration This is made like a big ruffled scrunchie to fit over your doorknob! Materials: Green worsted weight yarn (acrylic or cotton) Crochet hook size G One of the large, thick pony tail elastics Your choice of 1" ribbon Two 1" bells Round 1: Work enough sc around the pony tail elastic to cover generously; join with a sl st to the first sc. (About 30 sc) Round 2: Ch 1, sc in the same st as joining; (ch 3, sc in the next sc) around, ch 3, join with a sl st to the first sc. Finishing: Tie a bow in the ribbon, leaving 10 tails. Thread each tail through a bell ant tie an overhand knot to secure. Glue or sew bow to the bottom of the wreath. Happy Crocheting! 9
