Kate is a instructor for the Westalee quilting rulers. There will be several classes you can sign up for along with a demo time. You will love how easy it is to quilt with rulers on your home sewing machine. Class size will be limited so be sure to sign up as soon as they are posted to get your spot. Baby Lock has a great learning opportunity available to all customers called the Love of Knowledge. In the Love of Knowledge Center, there are over 400 online classes taught by Baby Lock experts. Quilt It Beginning Quilting At the end of the 4 sessions, you will have learned the basic skills of quilt making: fabric selection, rotary cutting, accurate piecing, adding borders, quilting, and binding. Come to the first class with your supplies or you can purchase before class. We will be cutting fabric and sewing during the first class. There will be homework to be prepared for the next session. 20% discount will be given for purchases listed on the supply list. Supply list will be given when you register for the class. No experience necessary. BYOM Class fee is $75 plus supplies and book. Wednesday, January 10, 17, 24, & 31: 1-4 pm Friday Fiesta Placemats The Friday Fiesta Placemats are done with the Quilt As You Go Method using charm squares and some background fabric. You do not need to be a member of the Fast and Furious Club to join us for class. Supply list available upon registration. BYOM or sign up for one of ours. You will also need basic sewing supplies. Class fee is $15.00 Thursday, January 11: 1-4 pm or 5-8 pm Pineapple Table Runner This class uses the 10 pineapple trim tool. Carl will show you how to use the ruler and create this stunning runner. Youth Sewing Crossbody Bag We will be making a great crossbody bag that is perfect for shopping. This bag is totally lined with contrasting color fabric and has a zipper closure. We have a great time while we learn new sewing skills and make new friends. Class fee of $20 includes all materials needed to make this project. A Baby Lock Katherine will be available for your use. Saturday, January 13: 10:00 am - Noon Monday, January 22: 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm Embroidery Basics (for all machines that do hooped computerized embroidery) This class will cover the basics of machine embroidery which includes machine functions, thread selection, stabilizer selection, and positioning designs. Bring your machine, embroidery arm, power cord, embroidery foot, 4 x 4 (or 5 x 7 ) hoop, and spool of embroidery thread. Saturday, January 13: 1:00-4:00 pm Learn to Use... Double Dresden Join Carl and learn to use the Double Dresden tool by Me and My Sister Designs. This Double Wide Dresden 36 degree ruler makes it fast, fun and easy to make Dresden Plates. Cut your time and work in half because you use only ten wedges rather than the traditional 20 with other rulers. Plus create a secondary star pattern designs in the center of your Dresden Plate. Bring your sewing machine or request one of ours, thread, rotary cutting equipment and basic sewing supplies. Class fee of $15 includes practice fabric. This is the easiest piecing method to achieve accurate results even for the finest details. Add prairie points, trims and other embellishments to create a work of art. The book Little Gems and the Add a Quarter Ruler must be brought to class. The class fee of $15.00 includes pattern copied on foundation paper ready to stitch. Sewing machine and basic sewing supplies required. Purchase the kit or bring your own fabric. In January, we ll be working on the Snow on the Mountain table topper.
