PHASE I PLAN Call to Action Nagpur is one of the 100 to-be smart cities. The city has set in motion a Smart City Proposal (SCP) in association with Delivering Change Foundation as knowledge partners. A Smart City War Room has been set up which then set in motion the campaign: HERE IS WHAT PHASE I WAS ALL ABOUT Advisory council inputs. Experts brainstormed on the need of the hour and future course of action. An awareness campaign was designed and a detailed plan for next phases was created. The campaign was then set in motion. The forms designed to get public feedback were distributed across the city. The forms were then collected and the data compilation in the War Room began. The data is being measured across metrics like immediate priorities, tech needs, infrastructural developments etc. The data will lay down the ground rules for the next phases and will be integrated with the SCP. REACHING OUT OUTREACH PROGRAMMES PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT TARGET REACH A MAXIMUM OF NAGPUR S 5,00,000 HOUSEHOLDS Outreach programmes to NMC employees A communication kit was given to every Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) employee involved which comprised tracker sheets, design of the drop box and survey forms. Some examples: CMO Maharashtra @CMOMaharashtra Aug 9 CM Shri @Dev_Fadnavis and Shri @nitin_gadkari inaugurates website http://www.smartcitynagpur.com, a initiative by NMC Tejinder Singh Renu Smart City Nagpur This is one of my suggestions already submitted for Smart City to NMC - With constant increase in demand of parking area in various Govt Offices & Buildings, including District & High Court... It is highly recommended that space currently utilised for lawn or just soil area can be converted into parking with interlocking block s flooring, which apart from it s reuse also take care of ground water table. Similarly existing garden in colonies can be reduced from sides in similar fashion to accommodate more vehicles. Unfortunately we do not have areas of parking being planning lapses, but such small alterations can surely be done in public interest (Picture shared is of parking of Sales Tax office, Nagpur; nicely accommodating many cars on one side and scooters on other - greenery is also maintained and space too utilised - well executed job). Hemraj Nandanwar Smart City Nagpur Hoping NAGPUR as one of the top five smart cities in India with controlled and well managed traffic, quality roads, best waste disposal system without any nuisance, encouragement for all kinds of industries and employment generation, best medical facilities at affordable costs, fetching the institutions of national importance, best education facilities and best infrastructure. All these things are possible under the leadership of Hon. Shri. Nitinji Gadkari Saaheb and Hon Shri Devendraji Fadanvis, our CM. Vivek Mozankar Smart City Nagpur I like to see the Nagpur as Green and clean city. First I tri to keep clean my home and surround Kailas Waghmare Smart City Nagpur sir, for smart city Nagpur please provide the water through nal system so many corporation limit area tankar water supply but line of nal put up neat about 20 years.road system required four lane 2 for up &2 for down like 1 lane two wheelers &2 lsne four lane to avoiding the Jan on signal and on road also.transport system also updated like bus number, five deposit required NEWS & CENTER & the city bus stand every 1 km. city bus send every are of the city medical facility provide every area & not only Dhantolo,Ramdaspeth etc.most of the hospital permitted at ramdaspethinsted of,dhantoli NEWS kachara gadi should be send every area and not specific areas, after rany season gras citing require, in the same season the fawarni required Thanking you for asking the suggestion. Ketan Rajan Deshpande Smart City Nagpur Make Nagpur and nearby area Smart as well as with good governance system. and also connect all nearby district with four, six lane road for superior transport...! Vijaya Samarth Smart City Nagpur Smart city means less polluted city, smart city means majority population uses public transport, having good public transport, means less pollution. Smart city means fit and healthy city. Smart city means world class education by govt educational institutions and not by private coaching classes. Read more amazing responses on: https://www.facebook.com/smartcitynagpur/ Responses edited for grammar/brevity. Sparsh Janhitay Bahuudeshiy Sanstha Smart city points: There should be facility for walk-to-work because today a person spends maximum time in travelling to office and gets very little time to work. So empty all the foottrack. A house was a turning point in the lives of poor, which leads towards a better life and the government s effort was to not just provide a house, but to provide the right environment to live life to the fullest. As we all know that traffic problem is the main cause of smart city...so to overcome from this problem...first road should be proper cemented..and i think the basic problem pf accidents is also the destroyed roads... so if u focus firstly on the roads construction then two problems wil be shortout...first is traffic and second one is accident...if we starting from small things then definately we wil see the improvement it. Please check first impression face which is our railway station.it required a lot changes and improvement because of unauthorized tapraas, gumthis, Hut hotel s and bad road, railway station need to be clean from outside railway boarder is covered by a unauthorized hotels and tapraas please clean them first because its shows first interaction and face. All the unauthorized hotels were sent notice regarding their same and also destroyed by government many years before its been 10 years all the unauthorized hote.

PHASE II On the ground After the data had been compiled, analysed and put into the Smart City Proposal (SCP), Phase II became operational. The Phase II activities saw massive participation by citizens. It was prominently divided into two sections: Development of solution framework Publish the vision and solution framework What happened during Phase II Pan city intervention: TARGET 4,000 forms List of 10 interventions with pan citizen involvement Two open trucks visited 10-15 locations a day Trucks conducted 2-hour long sessions at the locations Citizens participated in the intervention by filling forms Area based interventions: TARGET 5,000 households Every area to have a different development model List of models will be identified for citizens to select NMC officials/ volunteers will visit door-to-door The models will be demonstrated on a moving truck COMING UP NOW FOR NAGPUR ` 2,500 CR The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) is planning to execute projects worth Rs 2,500 crore under the Smart City mission to be implemented by the Central government 5-YEARS The Nagpur civic body hopes to execute all these projects within the next five years. ` 1,500 CR Municipal Commissioner Shri Shravan Hardikar said projects worth Rs 1,500 crore will be executed through special purpose vehicles/ppp models and public participation.

HEAR THIS In it together Citizens across all sections of society responded via the Smart City Nagpur engagement forms. Kudos for DCF The Delivering Change Foundation (DCF) has extended a lot of support to the administration and the efforts of the Nagpur Municipal Corporation. The fact that such organisations are coming forward to think about making the city beautiful is a big thing. On behalf of the Nagpur Municipal Corporation and the government, I welcome DCF, its Managing Director and all other officials. I want to thank them for undertaking this project to make Nagpur a Smart City. Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Guardian Minister DCF has helped NMC a lot To attain citizen engagement for the project, we need a medium. The Delivering Change Foundation, which has initiated movements like the Jalyukta Shivar and Water Lab, with its expertise in citizen engagement has helped us a lot. I urge other organisations that are working in the social domain for positive development, public support and engagement to come forward and support this movement. Shravan Hardikar, Municipal Commissioner Chance for citizens to participate The schemes of the Central and State governments have ensured the selection of Nagpur in the first phase of the Smart Cities race. This is our city and we have to make it smart. The Delivering Change Foundation and the Nagpur Municipal Corporation are working together to enable this. I urge all the 25 lakh residents of the city to fill up the forms. Smart suggestions by smart citizens are necessary to make a great document that will be submitted to the Centre for evaluation to be in the top 20 cities. Pravin Datke, Mayor DCF s contribution a huge help Many organisations have extended their support to the Nagpur Municipal Corporation to make Nagpur a Smart City. However, the Delivering Change Foundation is helping us in making it a Smart City according to the framework mentioned by the Centre. The forms prepared by them are with us and they have taken a big step in helping Nagpur Municipal Corporation make Nagpur a Smart City. We must help them to deliver change by responding to these forms appropriately. Dayashankar Tiwari, Party Leader Need to work together To ensure that Nagpur is among the top 20 selected cities for the Smart Cities Mission, the Nagpur Municipal Corporation, the Delivering Change Foundation and all the citizens of Nagpur need to work together. Only a combined effort on the part of all the stakeholders will make Nagpur a Smart City. Munna Pokulwar, Deputy Mayor
