He was sworn into office on December 6, 2004, and most recently, served as Vice Chair of the Board of Supervisors. Supervisor Ovitt focused on promoting the County's educational programs, serving as chairman of the Head Start Program, and had continuous involvement in the County Schools Alliance for Education Partnership. By adoption of this Resolution, the Inland Empire Utilities Agency's Board of Directors extends its most sincere appreciation and best wishes to Supervisor Gary Ovitt for his 10 years of dedicated service as the Fourth District Supervisor of the County of San Bernardino Board of Supervisors. RESOLUTION NO. 2014-11-1 RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE INLAND EMPIRE UTILITIES AGENCY*, SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY, CALIFORNIA, COMMENDING SUPERVISOR GARY OVITT FOR HIS TEN YEARS OF SERVICE AS THE FOURTH DISTRICT OF THE COUNTY OF SAN BERNARDINO BOARD OF SUPERVISORS SUPERVISOR GARY OVITT WHEREAS, Supervisor Ovitt elected in 2004, has served as the Fourth District Supervisor and Vice Chair Board of Supervisors for the County of San Bernardino. He was former Chairman of the Board of Supervisors.
