Falsework & Formwork Visualisation Software The launch of cements our position as leaders in the use of visualisation technology to benefit our customers and clients. Our award winning, innovative engineered solutions can now be easily and quickly brought to life to demonstrate the benefits that we bring to our customer s projects. Helping our customers understand our designs will help them understand the compelling reasons for working with RMD Kwikform and the value that we bring. translates our traditional 3D schemes into highly realistic interactive models, that can be used with virtual and augmented reality applications, and all at the click of a mouse. The speed of creation along with the added value features such as the GPS location and part code identification really set the system apart from any of our competitors capabilities. In 2017, I expect to become an everyday tool for both our global designers and sales teams as we demonstrate to our customers how we help them bring structures to life. We should be ensuring that all our schemes, from the simple to the complex are pushed through as we bring better to life. INTRODUCTION Welcome to, the Falsework and Formwork Visualisation Software. has been developed to enhance communication between RMD Kwikform s designers, engineers, sales people and customers. Our design teams create a lot of 3D models using AutoCAD and our in-house CAD software. Our CAD software increases design office efficiency by simplifying the process of working with 3D Falsework and Formwork scenes. We can then automatically create 2D Sections and quantity lists from the 3D model. 1
With we can now take the same 3D models and bring them to life with realistic detail, materials and lighting. Exporting a model to takes just a matter of seconds. 2
GETTING STARTED Opening ipad PC AutoCAD Signing In The first time you open you will be asked to enter your personal Locus ID. If you do not have a Locus ID click Create New Account. Your Locus ID is your key to apps developed by RMD Kwikform. Opening a Scene Click the Scenes button to open the scene manager. Click the Refresh button to see a list of scenes available to download. Double-click a scene to download and open it. 3
Exploring a Scene The default mode of navigation is the orbit mode. Click the Orbit button to toggle between the orbit, walk, fly and play mode. The ipad version of also has an additional tilt navigation mode. Users with a PC and Oculus Rift headset can also experience their 3D Scene in Virtual Reality. Interacting with Components Click a Falsework or Formwork component to reveal product information. The selected item is displayed in the scene with a yellow outline. Some items will reveal additional information such as jack extensions, beam centres and leg setting out distances. Sharing Viewpoints Click the Viewpoints button to view a list of saved viewpoints for the current scene. A viewpoint is a camera location with a message attached. This can be used to highlight areas of interest and share thoughts with other users. 4
NAVIGATION There are multiple ways of navigating a 3D scene in. Each mode has been designed to cater for different users. Click the Orbit button to toggle between the available modes. 5
Orbit The Orbit mode provides the quickest way to navigate the 3D scene. The controls have been designed to mimic popular CAD software. Walk The Walk mode provides a natural way to explore the 3D scene. The camera is grounded and collision detection prevents you from walking through walls. The controls are similar to a first-person game. Play The Play mode provides a great way to show off a 3D scene. Sit back and enjoy as takes you on a cinematic journey. Action PC ipad Cycle through multiple scenes Click Multi-Play Button Tap Multi-Play Button Gyroscope (ipad only) The Gyroscope mode allows you to experience Augmented Reality. Point the ipad in any direction to explore the 3D scene in an intuitive way. Find yourself on site using GPS and see what the finished structure will look like when you superimpose the 3D model over the real world. Virtual Reality (PC only) The Virtual Reality mode provides the most immersive way to explore a 3D scene. Gain a true sense of scale and perspective as you experience the 3D scene in the most realistic way. This feature is only available on a compatible PC with Oculus Rift Headset and Xbox Gamepad. Scene Manager A Scene is an interactive environment containing 3D models and components. The scene manager provides access to all available scenes. It also allows the owner of a scene to share it with other users. Click the Refresh button to synchronise the list. Next to each Scene name is a coloured triangle. The colour represents the state of the Scene (Cloud, Saved or AutoCAD). Cloud Scenes Clouds Scenes are 3D Scenes made available for you to download from our secure cloud server. Only Scenes that have been made Public, have been shared with you or are created by you will appear available to download. Double click a Cloud Scene to download and open it. 10
Saved Scenes Saved Scenes are 3D Scenes that have been downloaded from the cloud and saved local to your device. This provides offline access to the Scene. AutoCAD Scenes AutoCAD Scenes are 3D Scenes exported from AutoCAD and have not yet been uploaded to the cloud. Double click an AutoCAD Scene to open it. If you are logged in with a RMD Kwikform email address you will see additional Save and Delete buttons. Clicking the Save button will upload the scene to the cloud ready to download to your other devices. 11
Depending on the type of Scene you have selected and whether you are the owner or not you will see multiple buttons at the bottom of the scene manager. The button on the far right (currently showing 15 Files) provides filters on which scenes to display. Click the Delete button to delete the local copy of the Scene from your device. If you are the owner and the scene has been saved to the cloud you will also have the option to delete the cloud copy. Please note that if you delete a scene from the cloud it will not automatically delete the file from other devices it has been downloaded to. Click the Sync button to synchronise all associated scene details with those stored in the cloud. This includes Share permissions and Viewpoints. Click the Share button to specify who can download your Scene. When you share a Scene with specific recipients you are also granting them permission to create additional Viewpoints. When you click Make Public anyone with a Locus ID can view the scene. When you click Make Private only those people you have specifically shared a scene with can download the scene. 12
INTERACTING WITH COMPONENTS Clicking a component will reveal its Axapta code, Product Name, Weight and the total quantity in the Scene. The selected item is displayed in the Scene with a yellow outline. Some components will also display product specific information: Jack Extensions Leg Setting Out Distances 13
Beam Centres Adjustable Brace Extensions When you select a component you can click the Select All button to highlight all components in the scene with the same Axapta code. With Jacks and Adjustable Braces you also have the option to select extensions greater than the extension you specify. This can be useful in finding specific items of interest. 14
VIEWPOINTS Viewpoints help to focus a viewer s attention on areas of interest and can be accompanied with a message. Click a viewpoint from the list to view it. If you are the owner of a scene or it has been shared with you then you can also create your own viewpoints. First move the camera to an area of interest and, if necessary, toggle the visibility of Structure/Falsework/Formwork etc. Click the Viewpoints button, select New, enter your Viewpoint Title and Message then press Save. All Viewpoints get saved to the cloud. When other users download the scene or click the Refresh button they will see your newly created viewpoint. 15
LIGHTS When you open the default time of day will be set to 9am on the current day of the year. If a GPS marker was exported with the scene the sun angle will be accurately represented in the scene. Adjust the time of day or day of year to see how the site will look at specific times. Click the Time button to animate the sun s path. By default the headlamp will be on. You can also adjust its intensity, which can be useful for particularly shaded areas. If you are running a high-end PC turn on advanced reflections to be immersed in an extra layer of realism. Missing some clouds? Try turning on the Alternate Sky. 16
VISIBILITY When you open up a Scene all components and the structure will be displayed. If you want to turn off specific elements to get a clearer view of the project use the visibility toggles. The graphics will automatically default to the optimal settings based upon your computer specification. This can be adjusted at any time with the Visual Quality dropdown list.as you move around the scene will switch the component models between high and low detail. This ensures that the camera flows as smooth as possible. If you are running a high-performance computer and you want the component models to always look fantastic then you can raise the Level of Detail slider. Please note that this can affect the graphics performance. If the camera movement is a bit too sensitive then you can adjust it with the Control Sensitivity slider. 17
QUANTITIES Click the Quantities button to view a list of quantities for all components in the scene along with the combined weight. Please note that this does not include quantities for nuts, bolts and clamps. Click an item in the list to highlight the corresponding components in the scene. 18
