Challenges Meet all constraints without any change in the cable operational link Power and non linearity Non linear phase noise OSNR Pre FEC BER Upgrade without any penalty in the existing wavelengths Multivendor environment: Alcatel, Ciena and now Padtec [ 11 ]

Strengths Padtec has a unique access to advanced 100 G DSP for coherent detection Partnership and strategic investment with Clariphy Civcom and Padtec have been producing 100 G transceivers and line cards for two year Deployed to T1 companies like Telefonica Deployed for regional operators like GVT Padtec made substantial investment in optical submarine business Optical regenerator with 6 amplifiers inside Depth higher than 8,000 m Sea trial in end of April/2014 12 [ 12 ]

Steps of This Project Two phases divided by segments: Phase 1 Segment A: Fortaleza Saint Croix Segment B: Rio Fortaleza Segment C: Santos Rio Phase 2: Miami Saint Croix Longer segment will be analyzed first: Fortaleza Saint Croix Transceivers modeling Link modeling Link simulation VPI Laboratory tests: real network assembled at Padtec laboratories Campinas/Brazil Field trial [ 13 ]
