Column & Beam Units with Debris Netting Installation Instructions Laminated Wood Systems, Inc. Seward, Nebraska 800-949-3526 2015 LWS, INC. AVR-NET INSTALL 05-12-16
AVR Installation Notes 1 Safety The AVR Vault Reinforcement System must be installed by qualified personnel who have been trained in proper safety practices. It is the responsibility of the utility or contractor to implement proper work and safety methods. Laminated Wood Systems, Inc. is not responsible for daily work safety practices. ROADWAY 2. Vault Depth 25 COMPACT FILL The maximum post spacing and beam overhang are based on a minimum vault embedment depth of 25 inches as shown at right. Vault embedment of less than 25 inches will require an engineering review. Debris Netting VAULT CEILING PAGE 1
Step 1 Mount AVR-03-A welded brackets to top of the columns using two 5/8 x 8 hex bolts. The bottom ends of the columns may be cut in the field to fit the ceiling height if necessary. NOTES: AVR-03-A Welded Bracket (2) 5/8 x 8 Hex Bolts Support Column For installations requiring columns in quantities other than three, refer to the engineering drawings included in the hardware crate. Listed maximum span lengths are based on maintaining proper ventilation. 3-3 Max Beam Overhang 6-9 Maximum 6-9 Maximum 3-3 Max Beam Overhang Page 2
Step 2 Locate, plumb & temporarily support all support columns using temporary shoring. Support columns should be located as close to the center of the vault as possible. 6 to 8 Feet AVR-01W-ND 6 x 6-3/4 x 7-9 1/2 Wood Column Temporary Shoring (2 x 6 Cut to Length) 3 Hex Screws Variable Variable END VIEW Page 3

Step 4 Attach plate AVR-03-B to the columns using one 5/8 x 8 hex bolt as shown in the illustration below below. Lift first support beams into place on top of columns and temporarily secure with 3 hex screws from the back through small holes in the center of the welded brackets AVR-03-A. Lift remaining beams into place as shown and rotate side plates into position and secure with 5/8 hex bolts. NOTE: Refer to material list in hardware crate for specific bracket and beam quantities.
