The scrambler is capable of features such as ANI, ENI, Deadbeat Disable, Spy, and more when using Midian s Kryptic Signaling format with the CAD00/DDU00/TRC00. PRODUCT PROGRAMMING The TVSDT is programmed through the radio using the Datron radio programming cable and Midian s KL software or by connecting the KL programming cable directly to the scrambler. Please reference the KL manual for setup of the KL hardware and software. In the KL software select TVS Series > TVS from the product selection screen. Set the parameters of the TVS to fit the application. If any clarifications on a feature are required, move the mouse cursor over the feature name until the question mark appears and right click, a definition of the feature will be shown. Programming Settings: On the Input/Output tab of the TVS programming set the parameters as follows:
After entering the parameters, save the file by going to File Save As. Enter the file name in the File Name block and click Save. Saving the file will allow for quick and easy reprogramming of units. Programming via KL Programming Cable: If programming using the KL be certain that R and R are not installed on the scrambler. Connect the Green KL clip lead to the Program In hole on the scrambler, the Yellow KL clip lead to the Program Out hole on the scrambler and the Black KL clip lead to a common ground. Plug the scrambler into the radio and supply the proper voltage to the radio s power contacts with an external power supply. Turn on power to the radio and click Program Unit in the KL software. To read the TVSDT turn on power to the radio and click Read Unit in the KL software. Programming via Datron Radio Programming Cable: With the radio programming cable connected to the PC, plug the radio programming cable into the radio. Provide DC voltage to the programming cable s power connector to supply pullup voltage for programming the option board through the radio. To program the option board through the radio, install 0 Ohm resistors at R and R on the TVSDT. Turn on power to the radio and click Program Unit in the KL software. To read the TVS DT apply power to the radio and click Read Unit in the KL software. HARDWARE INSTALLATION Be certain to follow standard antistatic procedures when handling any of Midian s products. Datron HH00: Remove the battery from the radio, as well as the option board cover located under the battery. Remove the dummy options board from the radio. Plug the TVSDT into the options plug. Replace the option board cover and the battery. RADIO PROGRAMMING Datron HH00: On the Button Function page of the programming software, program the P or P button on the radio to Scramble. HARDWARE ALIGNMENT Midian presets the alignments at the factory. When ordering the radio model must be specified for proper alignment of the scrambler to that radio model. Mode Selection: OPERATION In the HH00 the mode is controlled by the radio s P or P button. While the button is momentary it provides a latched condition to the TVSDT. In the TVS programming set the Mode Switch Type to Level and the Mode Switch Polarity to Lo. Code Selection: Because the P and P buttons provide a latched condition to the scrambler, multicode capability is not available.
TECHNICAL NOTES Radio Compatibility: Midian has taken the utmost care to ensure the option board integrates into the radio with minimal impact to the features of the radio. However, some features may not be available in the radio when an option board is used. Additional Information: For a more detailed explanation of the TVS and it s features please read the TVS Technical Reference Manual. Midian Electronics Inc. 00 N.
