The Corporate Advisory Committee (CAC) of the National Legal Aid & Defender Association (NLADA) facilitates greater pro bono support for legal aid and public defender programs across the country. CAC members engage meaningfully with NLADA in formulating national strategies to generate public support for federal funding of legal services, develop innovative private-private partnerships, and bolster resource development initiatives. The CAC was founded in 1992 by Jack Martin, then Vice President and General Counsel of Ford Motor Company. It institutionalizes corporate America s dedication to the principle of equal justice under the law and explores the ways in which the corporate sector can help ensure the availability of representation to those who cannot otherwise afford counsel.
