Wood Counter Tops and Butcher Blocks Trillium Cabinet Company designs and builds natural wood counter tops and butcher blocks that will bring a lifetime of functional use and enjoyment to your home. Great care goes in to the selection of materials and the fabrication of each top. The rich grains, character marks, and natural color variations of all the woods we use are meticulously examined and combined to create a finished product that is both beautiful and usable. No man-made material can duplicate hardwood s look or feel. Types of Wood Counter Tops Natural wood is one of the only countertop materials that can take hard wear and tear, can be easily resurfaced or repaired, and can improve in color and character as it ages. End Grain (Butcher Block) Very durable and ideal for cutting and chopping, little maintenance required, complex geometric patterns possible, thicknesses from 2-5 inches. Edge Grain Boards are oriented with edge grain exposed, making for a strong, dimensionally stable surface. This style of countertop will yield a straight, consistent grain pattern with very little expansion and contraction over time.
