Warning label and position When perfming measurements of rotating objects, mount the product as follows. When measuring in narrow locations inside holes, mount the product so that optical path from the light emitting part to light-receiving part is not interrupted.. key when the sensing object is present. Stable sensing is possible. Mount the sens to a wall as follows, so that the multiple light reflections on the wall do not reach the light-receiving part. When the reflection fact on the wall is high, it is effective to use a dull black col. Stable sensing is not possible. -point teaching (window comparat ) This is used f the threshold range f the distance from the reference value of the sensing object by perfming a -point teaching. This is used f sensing within the threshold range. When perfming the -point teaching (window comparat ), preset Window comparat in the sensing of the PRO. F the method, refer to section, PRO. Threshold _SL Reference surface Threshold _SL Stable sensing is not possible. 3-point teaching (window comparat ) This is the method to perfm 3-point teaching (P-, P-, P-3) and to set the threshold range by threshold _SL in the mid-point between the st time and nd time, and threshold _SL in the mid-point between the nd time and 3rd time as shown in the following figure. When perfming 3-point teaching (window comparat ), preset Window comparat 3 in the sensing of the PRO. F the method, refer to section, PRO. When perfming teaching, use sensing objects (P-, P-, P-3) with different distance. After teaching, P-, P- and P-3 will be automatically rearranged from the smaller value.. key twice when the sensing object is present. 3rd time Threshold _SL nd time st time Threshold _SL. When conducting the teaching, use sensing objects (P- and P-) whose distance are different from each other.. key when the sensing object P- is present (st time).. key when the sensing object P- is present (second time). Span adjustment in Rising differential Trailing differential This is used to cancel the gradual changes in the measured values and to only detect sudden changes. To use the Rising differential Trailing differential, preset Rising differential oder Trailing differential in the sensing of the PRO. F the method, refer to section, PRO. The threshold can be set by using the threshold value fine adjustment function, see section 8, Threshold value fine adjustment function. When perfming a fine adjustment of the threshold of, press the UP key key. After is displayed, the fine adjustment of the threshold can be perfmed. Err indication Hold - - - - Hold Measured value blinks Description Insufficient amount of reflected light. The sensing object is out of the sensing range. Flash memy is damaged passed its life expectancy. Load of the sensing is shtcircuited causing an over-current to flow. The semiconduct laser is damaged passed its life expectancy. When zero set is set, the measurement is not perfmed nmally. Since the display is set to Offset, the zero set function can not be used. During teaching, the measurement is not perfmed nmally. Make sure that the power supply is befe starting the wiring. If the wiring is perfmed increctly, it will cause a failure. Do not run the wires together with high-voltage lines power lines, put them in the same raceway. This can cause malfunction due to induction. Verify that the supply voltage variation is within the rating. If power is supplied from a commercial switching regulat, ensure that the frame ground (F.G.) terminal of the power supply is connected to an actual ground. If noise generating devices (switching regulats, inverter mots, etc.) are used around the sens mounting area, make sure to connect the frame ground (FG) terminal of the device. Do not use this product during the transient state when the power supply is turned. The overall length of the cable can be extended to 0m maximum with a cable size of max. 0.3mm. Make sure that stress by fcible bend pulling is not applied to the sens cable joint. Although it depends on the type, light from rapid start type high frequency lighting type, fluescent lights, sunlight and etc. may affect the sensing, therefe make sure to prevent direct incident light. This product is suitable f indo use only. Keep water, oil, fingerprints and etc. which reflect light, dust particles etc. which interrupt the light, away from the emitting / receiving surfaces of this product. If contaminants adhere to the surface, wipe off with a dust-free soft cloth, lens cleaning paper. Do not use the sens in locations where there is excessive vap, dust etc. in an atmosphere where crosive gases, etc. are generated. Take care that the product does not come in contact with oil, grease, ganic solvents such as thinner, etc., strong acid alkaline. Make sure to turn the power supply, befe cleaning the light emitting / receiving windows of the sens head. 6

4 Specifications In case of err, attempt the following measures. 3 This is the size in the measurement center distance. These values were defined by using /e ( 3.5%) of the center light intensity. Due to leak light outside the specified area, the reflectance around the detecting point may be higher than at the point and this may affect the measurement value.
