Step-by-Step Guide for Employees How to set your goals and development plan in Success Factors: 1. Login to Success Factors using your email ID and password; you land on the Home Page of Success Factors. 2. Click on the Home drop down menu; Click on Goals. 3. Click on Create a new goal
4. You can create your goals by either clicking on Personal Goal manual input or Library Goal select from a list of common goals. 5. Write your Goal Name and the Metric and the Weight for the goal. Check Spellings by Clicking on Spell Check
6. Now choose the Category of the goal from the drop down list 7. Now choose whether this goal is Public or Private from Visibility If you are a manager, please make sure that every goal that you wish to share with your team is Public. If you do not make your goal Public, that goal will be Private and be only visible to your manager (hence your team members cannot see this goal in your goal plan). 7. The Status will be initiated during goal setting. This is the default setting. 8. The Progress button can be clicked to add details of how you will achieve the goals. This is an optional step though. 9. Click on Save Changes 10. Total weight should be 100% 11. Set up the rest of your goals in the same manner and plan a meeting with your manager to discuss your goal plan before submission! You can print this and carry this for paper for discussion. But before this you also need to write your Development
11. Next, create your Development Plan by clicking on the Home drop down menu and then on Development. 13. Click on Add New Development Need. 14. Write Development Need 15. Complete the Action Plan basis the 70:20:10 principle. 16. The Status will be initiated during goal setting. This is the default setting 16. Click on Save & Close. You can print this and carry this plan for discussion with your manager.
17. After your discussion with your manager, you can go to the Home drop down menu and then click on Performance. 18. Click on Create New Form and then on Performance Management Process 2014 and then on Self- Your Name. You can now create your goal plan and development plan to be sent to your Manager.
19. Click on Create and Open 20. Submit your goal plan for manager approval by clicking on Send to Manager. 21. You may write any additional comments for your manager. This will be added to the email that he/she receives. 22. Click on Send to Manager. 23. Wait for an email notification of manager approval of goals or request to revise.
24. If you have received an email notification to revise your goals, you have to login to Success Factors and on the Home page Click on Due Anytime. Click on Goal Setting. Review your manager s feedback for the flagged goal or goals. Where relevant, have a discussion with your manager to understand the feedback. 25. Edit your goal and Save it. When you are finished with all required changes, Submit your goal for manager approval as in Step 17, 18, 19, 20, 21 and 22. 26. After your manager approves your goal plan, you will not be able to edit your goals. Your goal plan will reflect Locked. 27. You can however edit the Status on your goal throughout the year. You can Edit your goals only by requesting your HRBP to unlock your Goal Plan. You require your GMs approval to do this.
Goal Cascade (for Managers only) Success Factors supports Vertical alignment (top down) in the Performance Management Process. You can cascade your goals to your team. 1. For cascading goals, you have to go to your goal plan and check (tick mark) on the goals that you would like cascade. 2. Then click on Cascade Selected on the top left side of the screen. 3. You can cascade goals to your team (including to your functional team for select MT roles in an OC) at a time by putting a check mark (tick mark) against their names. You can cascade one goal to your entire team. 4. Click on Next and this step will take you to the Goal statement for the team as in Step 5. You can make changes to the all the components viz.. Goal Name, Metric, Weight, Category, Visibility.
