Title: Dora Furiak fonds Dates of Creation: Physical Description: ca. 20 cm of textual records and photographs, and 12 b&w negatives Biographical Sketch: Dora Alice Furiak (nee Rogers) moved to the Kamloops area to be a school teacher, and married Joseph Furiak on June 30, 1930. Dora was very active in the Kamloops community, being a member of the Kamloops Ladies Lions Club and International Order of the Oddfellows (Rebekah Lodge No. 23) and working to promote musical arts through organizations such as the Kamloops Festival of Performing Arts. She was named Kamloops Citizen of the Year in 1991. Dora died in Kamloops on January 9, 2001. Scope and Content: Fonds consists of scrapbooks compiled by Dora Furiak, relating to her personal life and membership in Rebekah Lodge No. 23 (International Order of Odd Fellows), photographs, ephemera related to Rebekah Lodge No. 23, and her husband s Lion s Club membership certificates. 2
