First, I would like to thank our members. We have experienced a very successful year because of your support in volunteer hours, donations and contributions and continued positive support of our fundraisers, activities and events. Secondly, I would also like to thank the sponsors we have had this year. Their financial support for our exhibitions has been fabulous. My final words of gratitude are to the Board of Directors. This wonderful group of people is supportive, hard working, energetic and creative. Most importantly, I am proud to count the members of the board as my friends. ICAC is a wonderful facility, and I feel very blessed to be part of this organization. The Creative Spirit Newsletter Painters Keeping our Brushes Wet Jamie Jardine returned to the Centre on Wed. May 15th to teach Techniques for Creating a Painting for Oil or Acrylic Painters. This was a sold out workshop which attracted not only painters but also potters. Art Rental June 2013 The current feature artist is Lynne Bain. Lynne has sketched and painted all her life. For the past 5 years since her retirement she has been able to paint without any limitations. Lynne enjoys painting in acrylic and in oil, and she tries to imitate nature and water in her work. She is self taught and has learned so much in this past year since joining the Ingersoll Creative Arts Centre. Thanks to our experienced and talented artists at the Centre for sharing their time and expertise with a newcomer. Lynne is so thrilled to have her very first exhibit here in Ingersoll. 2 Summer Student We are so pleased to welcome back Monica Tait for her second summer at the Centre. Monica is studying History and Theory of Architecture at Carleton University and is going into third year. Monica just came back from spending a month in Venice for a school course. The Centre is grateful for receiving funding assistance from Service Canada s Summer Student Grant 2013. 3 Rug Hookers The rug hookers are now meeting every Tuesday of the month at the Centre. Hooking Tuesdays will continue all through the summer. Quilters This beautiful quilt was made by Nancy Hunt. Her husband, John, saved ten years' worth of Relay for Life shirts, and Nancy worked this magic. Volunteers Thanks to Gladys Bidner for the lovely wall hanging she created to celebrate our wonderful volunteers. Comfort Quilters Just look at our potter Jane Van Odyk. We can see how much she appreciates the quilt that was made for her by the comfort quilters. Creative Arts Centre NEW Logo It is time to update the ICAC logo to better reflect the current image and creative opportunities made available by our Centre. A committee has been formed to design and develop a new logo for for use in all printed material and signage promoting ICAC. These logos will be presented to the Board in the Fall. For more information contact Linda Trowell 519 425-1510.

4 Raffle Quilt Winner On November 23, 2012 our winner of the raffle quilt, Nature s Neutrals was drawn. This quilt was donated to the Centre by the Oxford Quilters Guild. After a few months while following procedures in accordance with Ontario Lottery Corporation guidelines to contact our winner we did it! IDCI School Exhibition The gallery was humming with young adults during the week preceding the Student Art Exhibition opening. The students took over the Centre and did an excellent job hanging their exhibition. Thanks to the painters for staffing the Sunday Opening Reception. A Monday after school reception was also held by IDCI for students and parents. Sylvia had been away in Arizona and came into the Centre during the Member s Exhibition and took possession of her quilt.
