Monthly Find Winners Artifacts: Britain Lockhart w/ MXT Monthly Presentations: Robert Powell shared his best finds from the last 5 years. Metal detecting since 1987, Robert enjoys hunting parks, schools and beaches. His display of gold and silver jewelry was quite impressive. Included in his rings was a very nice Tanzanite and diamond ring that made the cover of Western Treasure magazine. His recovery of a David Yurman pendent was very nice as well. Robert has assisted a number of people over the years finding lost jewelry. Robert s metal detecting arsenal includes 7 detectors, but he typically hunts with a Minelab 705 and a Surfmaster.

An inventor, entrepreneur, treasure hunter, patriot, author, husband, and father. Dr. Garrett and his wife Eleanor founded Garrett Metal Detectors in 1964. Our own Peter Thomas has developed a finds and collectibles tracking website www.findcuro.com. This is a great website to keep track of your metal detecting recoveries and other collectibles (bottles, etc.). You can share your finds on the website and link them to Facebook. The website also has a mapping feature to track locations. The nice part is that you can set your finds to private or public. Please check it out and support our club member. Please remember to bring in your dirty modern coin finds and scrap copper or brass finds. public officials in the preservation and protection of their property against trespass or undue damage through carelessness on the part of treasure hunters or other individuals. That service to historical societies, law enforcement agencies, and charitable organizations, is an integral part of a treasure hunter s code of ethics. In furtherance of these aims, the Stone Mountain Treasure Hunters have established this organization, for the purpose of inspiring those standards of attainment and neighborly conduct; and it shall be the endeavor of the members who may be called upon to preside over and govern this organization, to enforce the precepts of this organization by every reasonable means within their power, and they and all members of this organization shall exemplify those principles by conduct as well as enforcement in order that the club may bring honor to itself, and the world may be convinced of the sincerity of our purpose. Club Meeting Information Meetings are normally held the last Tuesday of the month (no meeting in December) at 7 PM at the Gwinnett County Fire Station # 5. 3001 Old Norcross Road Duluth, GA 30045 We are always in need of items to be used for door prizes at our meetings. Please bring what you can to any of our meetings. SMTH Club Information The Stone Mountain Treasure Hunters were organized in 1982. The founding members recognized the need for an organization of metal detecting enthusiasts to promote the following: That metal detecting is a rewarding and beneficial hobby to be shared by any individual or family.
