3-2 ITU-R Recommendations ITU-R M.1310 Transport information and control systems (TICS) -Objectives and requirements (10/97) Based on the ITS reference architecture completed in ISO/TC 204/WG1. It is also based on the US National Architecture. ITU-R M.1452 Low power short-range vehicular radar equipment at 60 GHz and 76 GHz (05/00) Technical and operational characteristics of collision avoidance radar operating at 60 and 76 GHz has been implemented by the ITS industry. ITU-R M.1453-2 DRSC at 5.8 GHz (06/05) Based on the ARIB, TTA, ETSI and CEN Standards for DSRC, and updated in June 2005. Extensively used by the ITS industry. 10

5 Summary ITU-R Further development of globally applicable Recommendations. ITS Standards Participate in these activities in ITU-R to ensure that ITS requirements are taken into account. ITS also depends on other activities in the ITU-R: Software Defined Radio (SDR), Cognitive Radio (CR), Adaptive Antennas, IMT-Advanced and others. Global Collaboration on ITS Standards Harmonize such as applications and architecture, which can be possible, should be proceeded, even if the ITS spectrum are not same as in Japan and Europe. Report status of ETSI TC-ITS to international meetings such as in ITU-R and ISO. Work together more closely. ETSI and ITS Info-communications Forum, Japan should have periodical information exchange meetings. 21
